@@FlashinA nah 17 is a lot simpler when it comes to most things like take combos, using the ginyu force to combo is crazy and I'm saying this as someone who has learnt the common optimal combos for most characters, android 17 is just about charing up one of his moves and using his 236 ex right
This was very helpful for someone like me who hasn't kept up with the meta in like a year or two. Everything is so different now that I'm not sure what happened while I was gone. It feels like a new game
Here's what you need to know: The fusions are pretty good, to the point where full fusions (Specifically the Gogetas and Vegito) was the meta team before Lab Coat 21 made it two fusions and Lab Coat 21, and she's still solid after the nerfs. Basically everyone is great these days, so just figure out who works well with who and you have a solid team. Fusions and Lab Coat 21 is still a great team, so if you want to kickstart yourself in the new meta there's an easy choice.
@@emberthefox4951 I've never really used lab coat 21 or vegito, but my team has switched up alot, my main is super broly, I think my final team could be him, gogeta blue and 17, or super broly, ui and gogeta, or ui and 17, hard to pick a main team
@@damienmoontear5864 I'm not a fan of fusions but Blue Gogeta with 17 A assist is one of the best shells in the entire game. He has like 5 round start and no spark TODs that have been in the game since he dropped that still work today. Don't believe what the video said about him giving completely safe mix ups. All level 1 dp and obviously any level 3 beats it.
@@starwarriorterra8373 Pretty much he had an infinite block string with EX barrier. It technically used 1 bar for each repetition but most people would start to panic after they notice it and got hit. On a better player you could still power blitz and assist for a 50/50 and it was really easy to bait stuff out because guard cancel used to be far worse than it is now. In the current patch the only fallow up you can do on a blocked EX barrier vanish and then play a little RPS or if you have a good enough assist you can keep it safe without the vanish.
@@jesuspernia8031 I don't play DBFZ so I'm speaking generally. From what I understand about fighting games and mix up type characters, the player needs to be better than their opponent for mix ups to work and mix up options don't exactly equate to a top tier kit despite how good they are. When you figure out the player's thoughts and stop their characters Schtick constantly the character just becomes sort of "meh". Then the player has to use even more brain power than before but is noticeably scrambling to stay even. 17 might not be Low tier but Mid and Low characters require bigger brains to make them work better. If I'm better than you and/or know your character, mix ups don't mean as much to me as it does to players on your level. Personally, what messed me up as a player is trying to mix people too much because I had a lot of fun as Low and Mid Tier characters knowing I'm just as good or better than the other player. I'd wind up mixing myself as a result because I'd be Speculating too long or doing too much too soon. If a character is too focused around mixing or has a kit that requires actually being better than your opponent, having to work too hard is the reason for a lower ranking. Either that or people don't fully understand the character so they just put the character anywhere.

He's on essentially all of my teams because I main Adult Gohan. His assist is absolutely insane, leads to great block strings and is immense defensively which opens people up because it protects against guard cancel as well. He also absolutely shits out meter with his optimal jS "loops" and does a lot of damage once you get the hang of his rekka's (his technical BnB with two loops of jS in to elbow drop does 5400 before any supers) and has the overall best solo mix in the game once you begin to learn how to utilize his wall bounce cancels to force 50/50's with and without assists.
I love the current patch of the game. There are so many options now that blocking is actually impressive and it seems to encourage more freestyle play rather than support locking your opponent down with math so you can mix.
