There is a Korean proverb (a saying) that goes like, *'The crow-tit that tries to walk like a stork will break it's legs'* So BAEPSAE, which means Crow-tit (a type of small bird) is used as a *figure of speech or slang* for someone who is *not* of the "Chosen Elite people of Korea" (People who are born into wealth, popularity, prestige, etc.) BTS' song is basically saying *no matter how hard they work, or how far up they go, they are told that they'll die trying to reach the upper-class status* of a "Hwangsae" or "stork" (stork, which symbolizes the Rich, High-class, etc.) *and that it isn't fair to them who already work hard and try their best and they know they have what it takes to beat the odds.* Side note: BTS definitely has broken through many barriers in Korea and they are doing shit that NO ONE ever saw them being able to achieve, and as of earlier this week, apparently they are so successful that they have moved into one of THE ABSOLUTELY most EXPENSIVE neighborhoods in all of Seoul, South Korea. *Rumored monthly rent is 46k USD and they might be leasing multiple floors* So....yeah they DOIN the damn thing and I couldn't be more proud as an ARMY ^__^ ♥

As a sort of background info, the korean entertainment world is widely dominated by companies, mainly something called The Big 3, 3 diff companies (SM, YG and JYP Entertainment). Groups from those BIG companies are easily well known or heard of, while smaller companies have a harder time promoting their groups ex. Lack of funds, facilities etc. Those big companies also have a lot of sway in the industry and can block smaller idol groups from certain gigs, offers, etc. BTS Company : Bighit Entertainment, is a small company formed by Hitman Bang. I dunno if someone's already said this but: If it helps, they pronounce baepsae in the song. It's the first line "They call me baepsae" (Baepsae is the original korean title). idk if somebody alrdy told yall but in this vid, the reason why suga twerked at the end is bc they played rock paper scissors on who should solo dance at the end of the song and suga lost so he twerked. that dance vid was a gift for the fans, it was released on their 3rd year anniversary as BTS. always feeding the fans.
