Your recipes brings back memories from years ago. I'm in my late 60's. The recipes you share are very close to what my mother made. The wife also grew up on this food. She is making these dishes again. Thanks
OH MY what memories this brings up. I had been married about a year when my new husband and myself went to my Mamaw's and Pa's for dinner one day. We were sitting at the table when my Pa stood up and reached over to the center of the table where a pot of blackeyed peas were and got him a big ladle out. In his ladle was a cooked pig tale... My husband almost got sick and had to leave the table.. Rest of us stayed and ate. LOL What a sweet memory you just gave me...that was eons ago.
I love beans! I have not had beans cooked with jowl, pigtails, and neck bones. Before 2021 is over I will have tried it! I am using my Christmas ham bone in my peas. Thanks for sharing different ways to cook and season food! 🤗 🤭
Chef Jeffrey my entire mouth and tongue were watering on this OLD SCHOOL SOUL FOOD New Years tradition! I love how you made it your own but also gave credit to your mom. I knew those peas were special when you tasted them and said,”Oh my God!” LoL 😂
