Pretty much any servant that can self charge to 100% NP without support or CE help is very much worth using and Xuanzang is no exception.

I got her a year ago from a spook, then she spooked me 2 more times during the crane banner I believe.. she is amazing!
She was my first ssr caster from way back on NA from a gssr event and merlin support was my best option for assassin fights
Honestly I've always wondered what she could do in a real Holy Grail War. What kind of magic and strategy would she use if given the time.

she is a fighter monk. Haven't you played trough Camelot? Who needs a strategy when you can one shot most servants in cqc combat
@@ЛюбенИванов-ш7ц that's not really a Caster though. If anything she should have the Lancer class if that is how she would fight.
@@nicholase82 Well...thats how Sanzang fights. She does have scrolls for some kind of magic protection but its mostly with the staff and cqc combat
One of my favorite approaches to her is tossing on a Starting NP Gain + Charge 2 Levels CE (like Love’s Curse or Devilish Bodhisavatta). Guaranteed NP pop on turn one and she hits like a truck! Hell, if you append battery her you don’t even need the NP battery CE and can get away with Black Grailing her and still get the turn one NP.
That 80% battery is just so cool. I’ve struggled to use her effectively besides as a nuke- but I really dig her kit.
She spooked me so often that she became NP5 while having no other 5 star servants past NP2. That’s why I max leveled her to 120.
At that level with her append skills, she gains significant boosts. Her append 1 buffs her 6 hit extra attack, her append 2 lets her start at 20% NP charge which she can top off with her first skill, and her append 3 is unique in that it actually has class advantage against another class (berserkers).
With a black grail and append skills she can NP without support and delete any berserker in her way. Needless to say, she has never left my team lol.
I'm surprised you didn't mention her append 2 and how it allows her to instant np with a ce without starting gauge (black grail for instance)
I have NP 5 caster Gil and I have Seig so I’m not really worried about DPS casters (also I still need mats for Edison) 😅I still have her from spooks but I also have Np 3 Circi from spooks
For CQ or if I need a ST DPS Caster, Sanzang is my go to girl and her recent buff is nuts.
She can farm with koyan on single target nodes.if that shit was 6 turns instead of 7.
Got her on a gssr banner and before i realice she was already at max bond, since i would use her for qp farming becuase of her third skill that would give np gain, but i would also use her in cq every now and them, so am happy that she got a buff that makes her more useful, but am still waiting for the summer version.
Xuanzang kinda literally saved my beacon back in lostbelt against *that thing* she was literally last servant remaining and her second skill got off cooldown second she got from second line soo thanks to that i survived boss lp and finished if off with my own xD

I got her while trying to get brediveire. I got more 4 stars then copies of him
Even to this day, she's my go to when I need a caster to actually do damage.
Absolutely stoked I got her in a single ticket pull.
I spent A LOT of quartz on her several years ago, even spent money. Never got her. I just spent like 150 more quartz on top of like 50 tickets. Nothing. I'm beyond down bad. I have wanted her for so long and now i dont even have enough to possibly get Oberon or Koyan.

Sadly, I don't have her. I've been using Seig as a dps Caster. Though, I now have a NP5 Nitocris, so...
Sanzang really loves me in both servers. She's NP4 in NA and NP3 in JP.
considering our only choices for single target damage dealing five star Casters are Xuanzang and Illya, I'll take the tall big booby gender bend over Prisma Illya any day. If it was Fate/Stay Night Illya I may have rolled for her but because it's Prisma Illya I skipped all her banners which means I don't have the Magical Girl of Sapphire CE which means if I ever get Illya from any future banners I'm gonna be beyond mad 'cause that means I missed a great CE for nothing.
And going outside of SSR, our only other options are Medea, Sheba and Shuten (JP also now has Corday at 4star and Okuni at 5star). Single target Casters really are thin on the ground, and the fact that Sanzou is both legitimately good and non-limited? Absolute gold in my book.
She's great and needs a summer version.
I'm kind of conflicted about who I should get for the free 5-Star.
Sanzo is among my candidates because she's a rare offense-oriented ST Caster, and with the existence of ORT and its class-change gimmick, having an ST Caster is a godsend for when the boss assumes Assassin-class.
Among my other candidates are Osakabehime (tanky and good for solo runs, plus I need her to complete my gamer girls team), Anastasia (solid AoE Caster, visually impressive ice attacks, and a sad real-life history), Tesla (powerful AoE Archer, plus I share his birthday), and a 3rd copy of Jeanne (tanky best oneechan).
Got her somewhat early back when I was stuck in Part 1. She really helped out a lot when I didn't have that many Servants to use.
Xuanzang was my 2nd GSSR servant, but wanted to attempt to get a few copies of Bedivere. Pulled 50 times and got about 15 3* servant (5 being sabers) and no Bedivere, but for some reason, Osy came out at pull 47. WTF?
I wanted to try and get NP for Bedivere and did a single 11 summon thinking maybe I'll get lucky and 1 or 2 with the rate up.. i didn't, but I got her so pog I guess.
Funny thing for some reason when i was trying pull alter yesterday i used on ticket by mistake on her banner and i got her i was like yap her my 5star luck go away 😂😂
