Captain Planet and the Planeteers is an American animated environmentalist Superhero television series that ran from 1990 to 1992 and then had a sequel series run from 1993 to 1996.
Created with an environmental message in mind, the animated series Captain Planet and the Planeteers and the New Adventures of Captain Planet spawned lots of other merchandise but it's lasting legacy is in the Captain Planet Foundation.
