Trust me, they really do have a point. Genz do believe in writing journals. So their thought was correct. But the price is very high. Not all genz can afford this. Third, your journals and notebooks are very impressive, like it does looks like it can also span globally. Another thing is that please make the blank pages as option. The people who write journals might agree with me that blank pages are more interesting than the ruled one. Finding a good notebook with blank pages is really difficult. In India , it's just the "Factor notes" who do have amazing covers with blank pages in affordable range. You can also make them rounded corners. But do not make any change in your covers, because that is really impressive. So Odd Giraffe, if you can just do something on the price, the market is yours.
What's the basis of your statement - "genZ do love writing non-digitally"? The founders didn't quote any study/research/survey to support their claim, do you have any?
I spent considerable amount of money on journals, planners etc. right now I have 6 which I use regularly for different purposes I also buy stuff like stamps stickers, highlighter you name it I have a drawers in my chest of drawers filled with stationary items, and sometimes the good OG stuff are not available in India Japanese stationary items are way ahead of its time & I have to order from overseas. People who get it, get it. And trust me if I have to start a business I would start a stationary business coz not only I love it I am passionate about it.
I agree it’s a little expensive but the quality and the experience of the product is amazing. I have used their journals and they’re wonderful. I’m pretty sure they’re smart enough to understand that if their putting they’re price point at 1600 what audience they’re targeting. It’s not for everybody and that is fine. It’s a 2 people business and I’m honestly surprised as to how they’ve managed to achieve all this. Love it
Classmate ke register bhadiya hai hai bhai 😂 Genz bade wale Hote hai Pura din Insta Snap me ghuse rehne wale kya likhenge Jo yeh price point hai waha har baccha Ipad leke baitha hai
The market for these products are very small in India , evident from the fact that most of the commentors don't even know the difference between notebooks and aesthetic planners or organisers.
i bough 3 planner for 3 consequetive years , that too way costly around 4k per planner and 3k for journal and used none of them. its just a showoff thing which we do just for a month or 2 . not more than that .rather i started using digital planners and it work wonders to me .
hey bhagwan 1600 ki copy, vo bhi kuch khaas nhi h usme Also, very copyable business, Price war hoga, and companies will make losses, specially the ones jo itna marketing cost kre
They are right, the entrepreneurs. The only problem I see is that they're trying to cater to everyone, they need a niche. The niche is ofc the top 5% of India with the most buying power, mainly the women who follow eurocentric trends and aesthetics, which have ofc been amplified by social media. Their strategy should be more influencer advertising, where they need to hire one of those clean girl aesthetic ladies or just women who make aesthetic ASMR lifestyle videos. 1600 for a planner is not a lot for this 5%
These ppl be making up anything in name of “genZ ka interest hai yeh” bro who lied to you that desi genZ is gonna buy 1600 rupees journal in name of brain health 😭🤡
They destroyed their pitch by saying there market audience was genZ they should have branded it as a product made for every age group even vineeta said she got gifted..her kids are genZ she ain't
i remember watching an episode where aman was against the idea of genz reading books nowadays, this time again he is having the same attitude towards journalling. Idk wats wrong with him may be he is not aware with the present scenerio
TBH, anyone who regularly uses good-quality productivity planners, journals, yearly planners, etc., and knows about the planner industry can tell that ₹1600 is reasonable. Some planners and journals even cost ₹3000+. Its just a matter of priorities.
I'm your customer and your notebooks are great. Dare I say even value for money. I'm not a gen Z either! Sharks lost a great opportunity. More power to you both!
I use fountain pens and use their notebooks Usually classmates and camlin shows bleeding ghosting and feathering But their paper is of good quality Price could be lower but considering it’s a new startup prices can be at a higher side
I've ordered the planner and it's so good that I didn't even get to see it, it's been a month and yet not delivered nor they have customer support number, careless company
They were not there for shark. They were directly talking to global giants through this exposure. See, companies like these are never scalable but these companies gets a huge payout by global players who are trying to enter a new market. For eg, now that French brand if they want to enter indian market they will try buy them out and either they employ these guys CEOs or if the guys doesn't want that then fine. Companies like these are entry point for major companies. Sharks should have invested.
Their price point is honesty ok as planners are a more premium thing in general, so the people who would buy planners would be people who can pay a premium price for a premium quality, which they seem to offer. Its just a very niche market, but they can definitely make good businesss even in that, as they seem to.
As a gen z I totally disagree with Aman. Journaling is new thing that i and my friends love to do & yes price is the barrier for sure. If they reduce their pricing from 1600 to 399 or 499 then there customer base will increase exponentially
