Hey! If you got good value out of this video please consider hitting the subscribe button to help me out! Once I get 1,000 subscribers I'll be able to monetize the channel which will go a LONG way to helping me pump out more quality content! Thank you in advance!
I have a lot of new suggestions that I'm getting video footage together for right now through raiding for examples of stuff I'm talking about. Shooting for Thursday morning next week and then it should be weekly after that.
Base for next video is done and all Broll for next 5 videos ready. Editing graghics and such on tomorrow and it will be uploaded tomorrow evening or saturday morning! :) after that I will have a steady stream of videos coming out. Thanks for holding me to account! :)
A guide I have really been wanting is a shadow priest snapshot guide. I can only find brief past conversations on the discord for it. Example What spells snapshot for spreist What is the bis stat for each dot for snapshotting. What conditions is it worth to stop MF and re-snapshot dots. I know trinket alone is not worth it. But what about trinket proc, tailoring proc, and eng gloves are back up? Could be a fun simple video that I think could help alot of spriest alt players.
This is the exact video I have been thinking about. And it's the perfect suggestion, so thank you! The problem is, it really isn't simple. Only because there are a lot of "rules" to why you snapshot/MF cancel and when. I could boil it down to general principles though! I'll start this project very soon!
Video is finished. Just making the thumbnail and it will be available scheduled for 10 AM CST tomorrow! Thanks for the request and I hope it answers your questions you may have throughly! :)
Haha you're right, I'm pinning this. Get lost in the sauce when you're deep in the video making process XD. I had patchwerk/gluth on my notes too... Thanks!
Great video the same gear you put together was funny enough the same as i had come up with Please keep posting videos :) putting together raid guides will be interesting to see, would like to see other Spriest perspectives on fights!
I'm glad i helped confirm your greatness! I appreciate the motivational and kind words. And I think I will make some shadow priest raid videos. We are planning to hit hard modes starting right away. So I need all the motivation I can get to pump out content!
Nice video. In terms of weapons, I have been lucky enough to pick up Aesuga, which I actually think is on par with Starshard (if the hit is surplus) as you're effectively getting 70ish crit/haste over 60ish sp.
Great vid! Subbed. Super difficult to sort through the HM stuff. In your "non-HM" 80upgrades you have some hard mode items like the rings or trinket for example (according to vid).
I currently have Living Flame and Sundial of the Exiled, Is there any other options to increase my DPS as Shadow Priest? I also have Embrace of the Spider in my bank and if needed I could go hunt for the Dying Curse trinket in Naxx. What combination would get me there, thank you for your time :D
Great Summary! You mentioned the 4 pcs Set bonus to be very strong, but there are powerful alternatives especially in the shoulder and the hand-slot. Would you drop the 4 set bonus of T8 for these alternative item options? This I am not really sure of. I plan to drop the shoulder slot asap and replace it with the Yogg +1 shoulder. hence, I have to somehow accept to wear the mediocre T8 hand pieces for shadow. :(
Thanks so much! So while it's true to say, individual slot pieces give stats that alone are better, the dps loss for breaking 4 piece is approx 250 dps. No matter what piece your break it for. If you break it for 2 pieces and say go helm chest but swap "bis" individual legs and "bis" individual shoulders you're still losing 150 dps. And this is based off of sims that I've ran with the worst conditions in mind. However, the 4 piece value falls off quickly once we are getting into high haste breakpoints. And the gloves aren't an optimal swap if you have pharos gloves in mind for that piece. Now if you want to completely disgregard sims (which I do frequently for testing) I would say its possible that breaking 4 piece could be a dps increase in some niche scenarios. But most fights in ulduar allow us to utilize the 4 piece "optimally".
If you wear Leggings of the Enslaved Idol and Amice of the Inconceivable convoker on a "non ideal fight" sim its a 50 dps loss +/- 187. So while i would say that's fractional and has potential to be better in some niche scenarios, I can't make a video calling it BiS to do so. But it seems like a fun option to mess with if your guild starts throwing those to offspecs. One of my favorite things about this game and this discussion is being willing to break molds and try new stuff. For example, I'm not a troll but I still 99 parse everything. So I say, do what you want to do and blast while doing it XD.
@@Darkest_TV Thanks a lot for this detailled explanation! It's really helpful! The reason, why I was asking was also that you took the disci/holy hands, since they offer haste instead of crit. But, I assume that you do not work towards the 4 set Bonus for shadows with this item. Or maybe, I misunderstood you explanation.
@@Darkest_TV I am also a big fan of trying things out, but I am not an expert on siming, and often the error bars are very large (refer to your example). So currently I am wearing T8 Head, shoulders, Hands and Chest, but I would rather go for the pants and replace the hands. I am not sure, bit as far as I understood 1 haste is almost equal to 1SP. With this I am currently running this rotation and the beginning of a fight: Shadowfiend (boss dependent) + berserk+gloves+portion--> DP-->VT--->MB-->MF-->SP. But only in a fewq fights in Ulduar, I could reach 90+ so far unfortunately. Btw. I am a troll, but only because I also played troll bag in vanilla. Certainly, the buffed berserking is a nice addon, but was not the reason for selecting a troll in WoW Classic.
The healing tier gloves are about equal to the badge gloves. But they are slightly stronger. Which is why I put them on the "non hard mode set" they are definitely not your end goal. Multiple pieces are better than them from the hard modes. I wouldn't recommend using shadow tier gloves though no.
Great summary and easy to navigate with the time frames :) I'm relatively new as shadow priest (re-rolled from shaman in TBC) and I'm still trying to figure out how to parse better. Typically i end up 6-7th at dps meters and I'm currently at 91 parse, but my guild is far from HC and we often go as 22-23 due to lack of active raiders atm. Do you have any tips on my rotation and how to actually perform better? Ofc, I'm using consumables 100% of the time during the raid, but I feel I'm missing out on something during the boss progress. I'm trying to refresh VT and DP before they expire, spamming mind flay 2-3 times before going for the MB. Really want to improve my DPS before Ulduar as my guild will most likely struggle with many of the bosses on HM. Appreciate any feedback! :)
Hey thank you so much! It's funny, I also re-rolled shaman to priest from TBC to Wrath :) . 6th or 7th is ok to be in as a priest against other classes right now, but it sounds like you may be able to get a bit higher. I'll leave you with a couple tips to try out, but I am considering making a video on this as well. Let me know if that's something you're interested in seeing. Tip 1: Make sure you're doing your best to snapshot your opening dots. Both Vamp Touch and Devouring plague benefit from snap shotting haste and spellpower. Make sure that you are getting the MOST spell power into all 3 of your dots on the opener with lust. This includes getting 5 stacks of Shadow Mastery and ideally critting on your Mind Flay / Mind blast to get your glyph of shadow to proc. Tip 2: Don't clip your dots. At the end of Vamp Touch and Devouring Plague there is a tick. It's important to let it fall off and then immediately reapply it. The same goes for Mind Flay. Be very careful to make sure you're getting all 3 ticks of Mind Flay from each one as best as you can. It's our number 1 damage ability and its important that we land it every time! I hope that helps as a starting point! It makes me happy to hear that you're wanting to improve for not just yourself, but to help your guild be better! That is what it's all about! :) Log comparisons are the best thing to do sometimes. Check out what the top priests are doing in their openers and such by using the timeline feature on warcraftlogs. It really paints a clear picture once you look into it. Have an awesome rest of your day, and keep on that journey! :)
Thank you very much for the tips, really appreciate it! Yes, would definitely love to see a video about it as Im sure there's more stuff that can be learned :) i will try to follow advices and hopefully be able to contribute to my guild enough in Ulduar. Thanks once again and have a great release! :)
The majority of players are not killing Mimiron Hardmode and Algalon up to this point whether it is 10 or 25 man. A realistic list would bei pretty helpful for those Players. I will go for: Head: T8 Neck: 10 man Council/Thorim HM Shoulders: 10 man Yogg HM Back: Council HM Chest: T8 Bracers: Kologarn Gloves: T8 Belt: Tailoring Pants: T8 Boots: Levi/Yogg HM Ring: KT Ring: Hodir/Ignis Trinket: Dying Curse Trinket: 10 man Razorscale/ Thorim Weapon: 10 man Hodir HM Wand: 10 man Freya HM Those 10 man items are so good, especially the Staff, considering the offhand options are not that strong Part from Algalon.
This list is definitely up for adjustment based on what content difficulty you're clearing. For sure adjust it, but be sure to sim it along the way! Great feedback! :)
The neck and cloak difference is because the troll options are better with the berserking racial. Also, those of us who aren't trolls, benefit a bit more from high spirit/sp/crit builds. However either of these options work for both. Just be sure to get the right hit values and beyond that these pieces are relatively interchangable.
You absolutely go Aesuga over Soulscribe. This list was a HM vs non HM list. And Aesuga is a 10 man HM item. If I made a BiS vs second BiS video I would have said Aesuga.
Yo am i the only one who uses staves?! I just got Intensity and Pillar of Fortitude and I've been using Damnation. They look great and still do massive damage, yet most lists hardly even mention any. What gives?

Can someone explain to me why for example the necks are different items for trolls and non trolls?
The neck and cloak difference is because the troll options are better with the berserking racial. Also, those of us who aren't trolls, benefit a bit more from high spirit/sp/crit builds. However either of these options work for both. Just be sure to get the right hit values and beyond that these pieces are relatively interchangable.
isn't the hit needed from gear 11% though? why are the nonHM gear sets providing ~12%(troll)? (for human 11%)
Why not Aesuga over Soulscribe ?

You are not alone. I am actually currently using one. But they aren't "BiS" so they don't make lists.
