I had to essentially google "explain snapshots to me like I'm a baby" without loads of jargon words and it brought me to this video, thank you so much for explaining what it is in one sentence and then showing how it works
I’m glad it was helpful to you. These videos are an act of rebellion against youtubers diluting videos for 30min, when the answer could have been 5 seconds :)
Friendly greetings Joe! I enjoyed this so much, thanks for being generous with your knowledge, and for such a straightforward and clear presentation - this serves as a GREAT intro to FMOD Snapshots for anyone who wonders, "What the heck are snapshots and why the heck should I care?" Really puts it in a practical context with the game pause example. One suggestion: I noticed the max vid quality is 1080p which looked blurry with your higher-res screen, next time it'd be easier to see if the video was uploaded at a higher res, even 1440p! Nonetheless, I could make out the text.
Thanks for your kind words. I think the issue is that my camera records at 1080, while the screen capture was at 2k. I’ll probably just change the resolution of the screen for the next video. I am glad that you were still able to follow it tho. Thanks for the advice.
Thank you. Question: if you want a sound to play when pressing pause and another for un-pause, then would you have kept the timeline sheet and added a sound there?
No, I would not. Timelines are linear. That event will be constantly active for as long as the game is running. I would place the sounds in a separate events. I also did something similar for Edo No Yami sensors focus. You play as a cybernetic blind samurai that can only perceive the world through sensors. As you switch between sight, smell, hearing and thermal, a snapshot would slightly change the mix and also trigger some SFX. You can add SFX in the parameters, and set them as async.
@@JoeKataldo thansk for the reply. Could you elaborate or point me to relevant documentation online -- what do you mean "You can add SFX in the parameters" ?
Alexandre, eu acho que o Joe não vai conseguir entender a sua pergunta porque está em portugues, mas respondendo a sua pergunta: Você precisa adicionar um loop region e arrumar essa região, deixando do tamanho que você precisa.

@@MirkoBello-vv9zm yeah but this took me way less time and explained it better, work smart not hard
Incredibly helpful and concise, Joe. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!

I was just wondering how to do something like this. Thanks!
I am glad it was useful.
Maaan this is magic!

Surprised no one mentioned - great music! Are you the composer?
I am glad you like my music, yes I am the composer and performer of some of the instruments in the track.
Como eu faço para ficar recomeçando os tracks do início do evento ao chamar um parâmetro?

I wish I could understand to help :/
You are clearly reading from a script, at least try to make it look more natural
And that’s bad why? I am trying to keep the video as short as possible
