Is it that they removed the Maus so that new players can't play? I mean high tier heavy tanks still face atgms. Unbalanced is no excuse. I hope there's an event this October so Der Maus can become a regular tech tree vehicle.
Nah. Maus was removed cuz it never was created. There was only 2 prototypes that were unfinished

@@polishseal7768 nah that not the reason, war thunder still shove prototypes as long as there is enough material to cover it.
The gun on the maus was basically that of the Jagdtigers, not only do they have the guns velocity but shells it can use. Same thing with the 75mm shell, you got the ammunition and velocity to source off of.
They also have a vehicles they can truly model of of even if its a hull and turret slapped on from two prototypes, they basically have all the armor they can model off of correctly.
They had the engine before it was removed, they know what engine was gonna be put in it.
In addition, the planned design for the Maus basically had the two prototypes stuff, the basic design need was done, it was just up to minor improvements.
Plus they didn't remove the maus entirely, as you can still get it via events, its not like the Panther II or Tiger 10.5 which basically are non-existent and thus completely removed from ever getting it, no event, no nothing. If you have it, nice , but no one new will ever be able to get it unlike the maus.
The Maus was removed because its didn't fit well as a normal researchable vehicle with the German tree plus they were lazy to balance it even more, its somewhat fine where it is, but suffers when up tiered to 8.7. It was removed because it didn't fit along with the research tree, if it was made premium, people would shit their pants and get angry, but as a limited time event vehicle, it can have its own special time plus not being part of the main tree.
It was by no means removed because its a prototype (or two prototypes).
@@polishseal7768 No, it's simply just gajiln can't balance a darn thing so they decided to delete them. Maus is too strong for lower br, yet so weak against higher br, let just say those heavy tanks higher than 6.7 are all share the same problem

It's added for a short period every gaijin anniversary, you just have to invest 1rp and you can unlock it later even after the event ends
