      Turns out its just System Shock 1 remaster but i guess at this day and age we need to enjoy this wonder of a game.

    • @Althemor
      @Althemor 8 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      Actually, from what I understand, both System Shock (the remaster of System Shock 1) and System Shock 3 are in developement.
      To be more precise:
      twitter.com/NightdiveStudio have been acting as some kind of (and I mean that in a positive way) Dr. Frankenstein of gaming. They have acquired rights to several games / franchises and re-released those games. System Shock 2 had long been non-available, but they collected the rights and now it can be bought again. They also released an Enhanced Edition of System Shock 1 (enhancements being mouse-view-support and greater resolutions ), re-released several other games and even recreated some game whose original source code had been lost, using a different engine and hiring some of that game's original programmers to do adjustments.
      And now they have decided to do a bit more than collecting IPs and making old games run on new hardware:
      They are actually developing the twitter.com/SystemShockGame themselves from the ground up.
      BUT!
      They do also act as the publishers for twitter.com/OtherSide_Games who are making System Shock 3. OtherSide Games by the way includes a number of original Looking Glass staff, so hopefully it will capture the atmosphere and general feel of the earlier parts.
      For information that is less awkwardly written than this, visit
      systemshock.com/
      www.othersideentertainment.com/system-shock-3
      or simply
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_Dive_Studios

    *spoiler warning* I was thinking the best way to incorporate the soundtrack into the remake would be to have the music play when you're searching for the systems authorisation code (whichever one initiates the launch sequence, and you have to find by going to each cpu room and writing down the numbers) and when you're trying to go to the bridge because of the escape pod not working the intro music plays

      @@JacobKinsley to be honest at that point your more hunting her down than simply escaping. Yeah escape is a major goal there but now you're hunting shodan too.
      Also I was really surprised at the inclusion of another fleshed out level before reaching the bridge, personally. Yeah it's shown on the side map but with how the gane tries to make you feel rushed it feels almost like a time consuming detour for a non-existent timer, well unless you play hard mode that is (though the immersion of the sequence is solid for the most part).

    • @JacobKinsley
