Awesome build! This maybe helpful... You might consider putting headers under the ridge posts, with jack studs down to the plates. Without collar ties and double top plates over time the snow load may push your walls out. hope this helps...
Back in the 90s my uncle built one just like this only difference he had a small wood stove, alotta deer was taken out of that thing everyone called it the kill house lol. Makes alot more sense to buid one of these that will last years and years. The one my uncle built would still be used if a tornado didnt fling it 200yards away lol.
I like it a lot . As big as it is it could be blended in to the setting easy . I like how you have addressed the little things that make all the difference . Good Hunting to Yah !
That is a cool concept. I thought at first you were going to use the running gear as a platform. Your idea was a lot better. Awesome build! I built mine on an old fold out camper frame.
Very nice build! Yeah, it gets all the way cold in MI and here in WI too. Next year for sure I'll have a box stand as I'm too old & cold in rifle season after a few hours anymore
I use that see-through camouflaged fabric for curtains from the outside. All you see is the camo patterns from the inside. You can see right through it so you don't ever have to mess with it. Unless you want to shoot then you just slide it off the side a little bit.
If I was gonna bowhunt out of it, I’d definitely do something like that. But, we don’t usually use it until gun season and usually for the late doe season. At that point, deer don’t ever pick us off. Even up close.
@FullQuiverOutdoors I live in Texas. Even rifle season. It's hot so I like to keep my windows open so I can get a breeze. Plus I can hear movement around me. But then again I don't usually have company to play games or talk or anything like that so that's not an issue.
my son built similar out of a hay bale hauler, much lighter, used fiberglass siding and roof, insulated, old discarded aluminum camper windows mr heater. we call it the war wagon
Love the blind, I agree farm implements are not noticed by deer after one day. I saw deer tracks around a small building within one week., after farmers had pulled an outhouse looking farm trailer into the middle of the field 1/4 mile from road. I thought deer would change travel pattern around this thing. Within a week had tracks next to it. The next year I killed two deer sitting in it 😮. Yes farm implements even weird ones , are hardly noticed
Man I've had that idea for a long time, but built from a different base so the height can be adjustable from inside using electric screw rams in square tubing.
You mentioned center of gravity concern. Even w the floor it could still be done thru the wagons door. Throw some sandbags in the bottom. Unless you're using it as storage
So many guys don’t think about that. Not nearly as much of an issue down south where it’s warm. But I don’t want scent getting out with the windows open so I can see either
I’m going to build something like this on an old lawnmower hauling trailer as a indoor shooting shack on my range and maybe as a blind too My range is in middle of a pasture and don’t want anything permanent built there so can pull it out to whatever distance want to shoot from the berm backstop
Not at all. I trailer down the road no issues at 40-45mph no problem. I was worried about that too. But with the extended capacity grain bin, there’s only about 30” side walls so there’s probably less weight up top that it looks at first glance.
You’d think that would be an issue. But even in sub zero weather, the Mr Buddy Heater stays on low or it gets too warm. I was surprised at how well it does
I made the door about 30” wide. I don’t know how tall the walls are. I have an extra capacity gravity wagon so they are shorter than ones built on a regular wagon. The center of the roof is about 6’ tall.
Nope, we move it down the road about 45mph no problem. We also drive it through plowed fields too and it doesn’t tip over. The running gear weighs a lot
My buddy went and I would visit him to go steelheading and salmon fishing on the PM. I went to Lansing Community College and took a few classes at Michigan State
I understand. But the gravity boxes by themselves sit in the fields around here all the time and the deer don’t care. The camo was just for the cool factor 👍🏻
@@henryfredette6735man, that’s crazy. I don’t see many guys hunting with a longbow, self taping and killing deer on camera like I do. You must run in some fun circles to see a bunch of us. I’m in a treestand or in the field about 65-70 days a year and have taken 31 big game animals so far this year. Not one from a blind yet and almost every one on camera. I’m sure you see lots of us in the field. 😂
You don't. It's just fun after a long archery season of sitting in the elements to be able to share a comfy blind with some buddies and enjoy a doe hunt or two together. Sometimes the late season here in Michigan can be sub-zero weather and there's no way a kid will be able to sit for any length of time to hunt in the elements so we'll go to the big blind.
That’s the coolest deer blind ever
Man that is a pretty awesome deer blind no doubt!!! Great job sir!

Very nice, and lots of room to boot. Great family/friends deer blind.
We have one to,if you put silver foil on the inside metal it blocks alot of the cold.

I just sat a blind on top of a KillBro gravity wagon and rolled it out on the edge of a wheat field. Looks like a abandoned combine in the tall weeds.
Love it! Gonna have to make me one for my daughter and all the neighbor kids to introduce them
It’s perfect for that! Have fun!

@@blaineverhelle4104oh gotcha. That makes sense.
Slick setup Gabe! Cool build video.
That is an awsome idea. I shared this video with my nephew who has a farm in Pa.
That is one awesome build!
Very cool idea and build. Good luck this season from another Michigander.😅
Very unique and cool idea, great job 👍👍

Nice build 👍👊

Great for overnight camping 😊
AWESOME idea and build! Blessings
Good idea especially in your hunting areas

That sure would be cool!
Nice build, I like it!!
Man I can't wait for deer season to get here already
Nice job! Enjoy it!
Now that’s bad ass and smart good job buddy
I just bought a ATN X sight night vision scope so I can record my shots can't wait
Very nice. I would love to have someplace to have something like that.
Very cool teach the kids that hunting is a good hobby 😊
Dude that thing is sick
Tint with the mirror tint, I have it on all my blinds and it works great. All the animal sees when they look at it is the sky.
You mentioned center of gravity concern. Even w the floor it could still be done thru the wagons door. Throw some sandbags in the bottom. Unless you're using it as storage
It was a concern until it was done. Once it was finished, we found it’s not top heavy and trailers very well
I agree with the tinted windows. More harm then good to have tinted windows.
So many guys don’t think about that. Not nearly as much of an issue down south where it’s warm. But I don’t want scent getting out with the windows open so I can see either
Awesome blind.
I like it good job sir good luck
Cut a hole in the wagon just below the floor and you can carry your grain/deer feed in the lower part
If it a portable blind with wheels on, you have to have a permit to, hunt out of is that right?
Not in Michigan. Only motorized vehicles. You can hunt off any wagon or trailer as long as it doesn’t have a motor
need a couple collar ties to keep roof to sag and bowing out walls
Really nice 👍🦌
I had the same idea, put screw jacks to level up the stand, that way you can take off a wheel, so no one can steal it
Great job Gabe!!!!
Great job
That would be where i slept in aas well. Just awesome

We used mine all winter to get ready for a South Africa trip. Worked great! Should be a good option for ya
great video sir.
Nice job
Great idea for a blind.
Any problems being top heavy, or do u have weights in lower part of wagon?
Not at all. I trailer down the road no issues at 40-45mph no problem. I was worried about that too. But with the extended capacity grain bin, there’s only about 30” side walls so there’s probably less weight up top that it looks at first glance.
I love the name! 😎🇺🇸
U could paint it pink and it wouldn't bother deer at all!
Yup, for sure! Just thought she’d look cool with camo
Great idea
Job well done, thank you 😊
What county? Looks cool
Mid Michigan. We hunt several counties
form the side will it be warmer or form board
You’d think that would be an issue. But even in sub zero weather, the Mr Buddy Heater stays on low or it gets too warm. I was surprised at how well it does
Camo? I think the deer see it anyway. A grain trailer would be a normal sight
Yup, that’s why I said it a couple of times in the video. It’s just to make it look cool. Deer wouldn’t care if it was bright pink. Lol.
Would. Be instresting to see how. The urinal is routed. To the outside
It’s a tube that goes through the floor and down towards the grain chute. It just runs out the grain chute.
@FullQuiverOutdoors ok
Make sure you take the tires off once in place or else your shooting from a vehicle
Not true in Michigan. It has no motor so is not considered a vehicle.
NICE 👍👍
How big did you make your door and how tall are the walls and the roof thanks
I made the door about 30” wide. I don’t know how tall the walls are. I have an extra capacity gravity wagon so they are shorter than ones built on a regular wagon. The center of the roof is about 6’ tall.
@@FullQuiverOutdoors ok thank you for your help
There’s hunting, then there’s harvesting. Know the difference.
i would put form bord aroud it metel first then the refleactive
Looks a lot top heavy, needs some ballast in the bottom
Nope, we move it down the road about 45mph no problem. We also drive it through plowed fields too and it doesn’t tip over. The running gear weighs a lot
Awesome 👏
Good job,good idea 👍☕️☕️✌️
What year did you go to Ferris?

Nice !
Nice not criticizing but the white wheel stood out bad how about flat black and the white Wheels
I understand. But the gravity boxes by themselves sit in the fields around here all the time and the deer don’t care. The camo was just for the cool factor 👍🏻
and cozy
All the camo paint was unnecessary. I see deer walking around them in Illinois corn fields all the time without camo.
I said that about 3 times during the video. Just wanted it to look cool.
Like it
I mean a blind that weighs 8-10lbs ,you can fold up and throw over your shoulder is about as " portable " as you can get !!!
But not ultimate. Lol
You don’t hunt in Michigan tho.. I’m surprised there not a wood burner in it..
Hard to put a Wood stove in though !
Aweome
Should put a shitter in the basement.
You guys are not hunters, you are just shooters.
Yup, we sure are. Don't do any hunting at all. Just a bunch of unethical shooters. You know us so well...
