Wow great shots of Chutes at the Beach before it became known as Playland at the Beach and in 1923 was renamed Whitney's Playland at the Beach. Gosh I really miss that place. I grew up in the Sunset Dist and routinely went out to Playland when my mom or grandparents would take me. Miss the Hot House too
Wow, so cool to see Fleischhacker pool filled with swimmers which was enormous! Also surprised so many bathers in Ocean Beach...brrrrr!! Always cold there and a rather nasty & dangerous undertow. Really enjoyed this, thanks for sharing it!😊
“Cimarron”, The show thats on the Orphium’s marquee, was from 1931. Some of these clips are from the thirties, but its a great collection of San Francisco historical pictures none the less. 👍🏻
Great works of art. Geoff, checkout the machine learning stuff applied to old films and what not. I've seen some of it and the videos look amazing. Plus the ML stuff can do colorization too.
