The talent this team has to come up with a theme that captures the personality of the Pacesetter, seamlessly incorporates a speed mechanic, all while having a banging theme, character arc, and design is incredible.
I did a comparison with the YT playback speed feature... 1.25x is pretty close to mid battle, 1.5x is just a biiiit faster than the max speed of the song (shortly before the guitar solo, *[BATTLE SPEED x999.99]* and song transition to "The Payser Test"), and 2x playback speed is "whoa buddy even I can't dance to this, the game's framerate doesn't go that high!". Practically speaking, I think the ingame music speed is from 100% to 140%-ish; if it were truly 1:1 with the Battle Speed increases, it'd be unlistenable by round ten.
@@WackoMcGoose there is custom playback speed which i was testing with as well, it helped a lot more than the preset stuff i think it's only on desktop though so mobile users take the L there
@@jaxolotl_ ...TIL that the desktop interface (which is how I YT 99% of the time because adblock 👍) has a custom playback speed slider. Which lets me confirm that, yes, 1.4x playback speed pretty much is identical to the max music speed in Phase One.
@@WackoMcGoose I also tested it on Audacity. To get it accurate to what it's like in game, I set the speed multiplier to 1.012, with the percentage change being 1.250. I'll be honest I'm not exactly sure what that means for the actual total speed up, but yeah. Edit: So overall, going from 1.0x to 4.0x is a percentage change of 21.400. Interesting stuff.
In a way isn’t this scarier… at least if it’s at 6x speed you know it can’t get any faster. With this? You know how much you still have to go, how much longer there is. And you know… that if you make one mistake you’ll have to go all the way back to the start… and hear this song again… (:
