As someone who has trouble seeing certain colors but wants to get into filming, I appreciate you stating "whatever looks good to you." I get caught up in doing things for others that I forget that being creative is what I think looks good.
It is remarkable how impressive this compact camera performs. With over a decade of experience as a videographer, I can attest that the footage captured could easily be mistaken for that shot with a camera ten times its cost. The skillful color grading undoubtedly enhanced the overall tone of the video.

Erwin, I have found a new friend & someone I appreciate in addition to a couple of others out there! You are very easy to follow & I completely appreciate your journey here & your willingness to take us along with you. I’ve never had anyone take us to color grading I I appreciate that added attention SO MUCH. I was blown away. I’m a little older & have tons of extra time, so I’m trying to find new passions to run with and great folks like you are certainly helping me!!! Also, your name REALLY makes me want to call you “Fletch”!! I’m showing my age a little with that reference. I love this DJI OSMO PKT 3 as well & you have another follower & fan, my friend! Have a FANTASTIC weekend & February!! ✌️
when im in a pinch and wothout my ND's, shooiting auto exposure has been surprisingly helpful too, as long as the EV is set to -0.3 - the added pro to this is pulling frames as still images at a higher shutter speed, if colored correctly you end up with disposable camera vibes, since its the same focal length. (ND+motion blur always the preference though)
No cause I kept seeing some other people use it and it seems practical/comfortable to use but the quality was never what I wanted it to be, till I saw this 😳😳 You single-handedly convinced me to get it lol

The point of the nd is to not make the shutter faster. The faster shutter does reduce light but it also eliminates motion blur which makes movement look jittery
@@erwinmarionneaux aaaah, that's whyyyy. Wow, I learned something new now. Thank you! Then I will definitely look for some filters because who doesn't love motion blur??
Can you tell me your export settings in Da vinci resolve? What is the important setting to get the best out of the video? Both for .mp4 format to save on an sdd and for uploading to youtube :)?
So im looking to buy this camera to record workout videos inside the gym. Would you recommend using a ND filter for indoors? Bear in mind there’s quite a lot of lightening inside the gym + light from windows - let me know what you think, thanks.
@@erwinmarionneaux Thanks for getting back to me. Are there things I should keep in mind when exposing an image and protecting the highlights? I thought I saw somewhere that I should underexpose images.
New Feature Requests for the New DJI OSMO Pocket 3 1. Add a dwelling time for each of up to four settable movement positions in Motion Time-Lapse Mode. As each of the four settable positions programmed into a motion time-lapse sequence is reached, the end user could set from 1 to 10 seconds of a pause in gimbal movement as each programmed position is reached during the sequence before the gimbal moves forward to the next programmed position. This would yield a much more dynamic and professional looking, smoother motion time-lapse sequence. 2. In Motion Time-Lapse Mode the ability to set movement ease in and ease out settings from 0.5 to 3 seconds for each programmable gimbal position before gimbal movement normal progression rate is reached. 3. True 24.00p filming speed. 4. The ability to set time-lapse sequences based on 24.00p. 5. The ability to be able to record from the DJI Mic 2 and from a plugged in via USB audio source at the same time. 6. Adding a 10 Bit 4:2:2 recordable video codec. 7. Please add zoom capability when shooting in all time-lapse modes.
The only difference is that the vivid collection also has a circular polarizer built in. So if you want a polarizer as well, go vivid. I just need the nd so I went shutter
Depends on the lut you have. If it’s just a “look” lut, you’d apply it after the conversion lut which is typically the case. It’s possible to make a lut that converts and gives a look but then it’ll only work on that specific camera.
@@erwinmarionneaux yeah I was curious cuz I just ordered a OP3. I downloaded someone’s footage and when I stacked the LUTS it looked kinda weird. But thanks for the info!
It’s a case by case thing. You kinda have to use your own judgement based on the situation. In camera light meters aren’t the best tool to gauge exposure so sometimes it might say +1 just because there’s a bright light in the scene but actually might be over exposed. So it’s always best to know what over exposed or underexposed footage looks like and apply your own judgement
I actually found generally setting EV to -0.3 to -0.7 is the sweet spot - captures enough data to increase brightness in post without having crap image and retaining proper shadows and defined blacks
@ProtoMarcus it’s always scene dependent. That might work most of the time, but I never pay attention to that because it’s always best to focus on what works in that specific moment.
@@erwinmarionneaux Fair enough. Quick question, are these setting mainly for outside? I'm currently inside and although it's not super bright, it's not exactly dark either but the footage seems really dark. Would that just be fixed in post or inside/outside settings differ? Thanks! (My pc is ok but can't seem to handle Davinci so well, hence the capcut usage)
@whatsnottohike for inside, there wouldn’t be a need for ND filters, so you’d just raise the iso until exposure looks good. It’s still a relatively small sensor so it won’t be the best at capturing low light
@@erwinmarionneaux thanks! The low light settings i feel look not TOO bad but of course, no ND filters indoors, makes total sense. Thanks for the advice. Subbed 🙂
