Guys these caliper requires a special tools to wind and press end caliper piston it must be turned to right and press in to achieve piston to retract back in if attempt to force piston with clamp it can damage caliper and you may get injured very don’t use power tools when attempting to retract caliper in you well get hurt

Couldn't you of salvaged the other caliper using a piston repair kit?? Just asking as I refurbished mine and saved alot of money 👍👍

the piston in the caliber must be screwed back while pressing and a set of tools can be bought to do it with, the arrow you see on the caliper is the way the piston must be screwed back, the other side is probably the opposite way, calipers without built-in handbrake function, can be pushed back without special tools.

Not on.this one. Once it comes our that far you can't screw it back in.

@@peterl6095 I have never had any problems using the right tool, but in return if the piston COMPLETELY falls out, then you are screwed

It just needs to be out a certain amount. This is a little different than the screw in calipers. Regular calipers have a limit on how far they can extend. These will extend until they dislodge. Once they dislodge they'll have to be professionally reinstalled.

I had noticed mine was out of place then i screwed to the right and then it went down just a little then stopped moving. I drive a 2012 ford edge i think hes right once it hits a certaint point it’ll stay like that because mine also was driven till the pads fell out and the piston was pushed as far as it could possibly go

I tried putting pressure on piston while turning direction arrow was pointing.. No bite! It just won't go
In! & it stops goin in where the other brake pad sits.. that's nuts!!
