Love your footage and the lack of yelling, maybe a wind shield for the mic would enhance sound quality though? Being able to hear a tornado is almost magical, it adds a whole extra dimension for us watching at home.

Great footage. Would I be right in thinking that more tornadoes occur over open fields/farmland than over towns/cities? (Thankfully) it often looks that way.

Please be careful with that kind of thinking. There are a couple reasons that most of the videos with tornadoes are seen over open farm land. 1. Tornado alley is centered over the midwest which is obviously a lot of open farm land. Dixie alley is a little different story. 2. Most experienced chasers avoid towns like the plague. Houses and trees to block your view, and they are also choke points where escape is much more difficult.
Bottom line, tornadoes are beautiful, powerful, and awe inspiring. But make no mistake they are also killers. If you are going to chase, please first get at bare minimum spotter certified.

@@barrymak421 I'm in Scotland so there's little chance of chasing much here! I was just curious, having watched a lot of these videos. Thanks for that info'. 😊

@@marionmclean3749 Lol yeah you probably would have a tough time there. I've talked to a several guys from the UK now about tornadoes. I hope I didn't offend you with my tone, that wasn't my intention. It's just with all of these great videos, you get a bunch of TH-cam kids with no experiance thinking hey I can just go out and do that too. That's a disaster waiting to happen. Seen vids of guys blowing through stop signs, getting "funnel fever" while sitting in the inflow notch and completely missing a new circulation developing right above them, chasing right behind mature rain wrapped funnels that have not occluded at full speed. Just being mindless about safety. That's why I mentoned the spotter certification. It gives you at least a healthy respect for the storm, and basic landmarks on the cloud deck to help you know when you are too close.

@@barrymak421 No offence taken, as there was nothing to be offended by! I can well imagine that some people would go out and get into all kinds of trouble though. I love the footage but have too much respect for mother nature to mess about with the elements!

Nice set of clips here. Good work! That LP Lyon KS storm... wow that one was special. Who ever said that you were in the perfect position was absolutely right. Couldn't have scripted a better vantage point. Hard to believe it was only rated EF4 with all the horizontal vorticies it was kicking out.
