1st Part: Afghanistan Cricket Board should divide Afghanistan cricket into two. 1. Junior Cricket 2. Senior cricket. ★ Junior Cricket: Under 15 to Under 19 cricketers will be part of Junior Cricket and they will play in the domestic league of Junior Cricket. ★ Senior Cricket: And above Under 19 age group, emerging team, A team, national team players will be part of senior cricket and they will play domestic league of senior cricket. ★ Junior Cricket: ACB should organize 6 centrally supervised leagues or tournaments & 2 from each format every year for junior cricket. For example - organizing two tournaments in ODI format, two tournaments in T20 format and two tournaments in Test format making a total of 6 tournaments or leagues every year. This 6 Tournament Will play Junior Cricketers Of Afghanistan [Under 15 To 19 Age] ★ Senior Cricket: Similarly, in the case of senior cricket, a total of 6 tournaments or leagues, two in each format, should be organized every year. For example - ★ ODI format- 1. Green Afghanistan One Day Cup, 2. Estisalat List A Cup/ Tournament. ★ T20 Format- 1. National T20 Cup, 2. Afghanistan Premier League ★ Test Format- 1. Ahmad Shah Abdali First Class Tournament, 2. Afghanistan Test Championship. As a result, the Afghanistan Cricket Board will be able to organize a total of 12 domestic leagues or tournaments including 6 domestic leagues in junior cricket and 6 domestic leagues in senior cricket every year under its direct supervision. Every Tournament there should be 8 Team Representative From 8 Zone. It will give Afghanistan's junior and senior cricketers more opportunities to play more matches, it will strengthen Afghanistan's domestic cricket structure, it will make Afghanistan Cricket Board and Afghanistan's cricketers more financially sustainable, it will strengthen Afghanistan's cricket and it will reduce the need for Afghanistan's cricketers to play in foreign leagues, This will further strengthen the control and influence of the Afghanistan Cricket Board over Afghanistan's cricketers.
2nd Part: I said in my first part that Afghanistan cricket should be divided into two parts. Junior Cricket and Senior Cricket. In this part I will say that ACB should divide junior cricket into 3 divisions. ★ District Level ★ Provincial Level ★ Regional or Zone Level. ★District Level: District level cricket team should be formed by selecting the best cricketers from among the cricket academies and clubs registered by the Provincial Cricket Association through trials. For example, Kabul Cricket Association registers 10 cricket academies in Kabul district. The best players have to be selected from these 10 cricket academies by organizing trials or matches. Those who will represent District Level or Kabul District. ★Provincial Level: Later, Provincial Cricket Association will organize Inter District Tournament with District level cricketers. For example, the governing body for cricket in Kabul Province is the Kabul Cricket Association. Kabul province has 10 districts. Between these 10 districts Inter District Tournament will be organized by Kabul Cricket Association. Where the cricketers who get opportunity at District Level will represent their respective districts. Later those who play well in the Inter District Tournament should be given a chance at the provincial level. For example, if 100 cricketers are selected from the inter district tournament then these cricketers have to be camped at the provincial level. The best 20 players will be selected from the camp through various methods. Who will later represent the province at the provincial level. ★ Zone Or Regional Level: Later, inter-provincial tournaments should be organized to select regional or zone level cricketers. For example, Afghanistan has 34 provinces. Each province should be divided into several groups to organize inter-province tournaments. So if there are 20 cricketers in each provincial team, 680 cricketers from 34 provinces can participate in this Inter Provincial Tournament. Later, the best among those who perform well in the inter-provincial tournament should be given a chance at the regional or zone level. And regional or zone level cricket teams should be formed with the best cricketers from inter-province tournaments. For example: Southern Zone, Northern Zone, Western Zone etc,. Afghanistan has a total of eight zones or regions. Each of these 8 zones or regions will be teams. If each team has at least 20 cricketers then there will be a total of 160 cricketers in 8 zone teams. There were 680 cricketers at the provincial level and among them 180 cricketers will get a chance in zone level cricket. Later, these 180 cricketers will get the opportunity to play in the domestic league of junior cricket at the national level. who will represent their respective zones or regions. I said in my first part that junior cricket domestic league should have at least 6 tournaments. There should be 2 tournaments in each format. Those who will be part of junior cricket at the national level and play in the domestic league of junior cricket should be brought into the ACB salary structure.
Part 3: If there are no cricket academies in all the districts of Afghanistan, then the provincial level team should be formed directly excluding the district level. In this case Inter Club Tournament should be organized among all the registered cricket academies and clubs of the province. Those who perform well in the tournament should be given a chance at the provincial level. Those who perform well in the domestic league of junior cricket should be given a chance in age-based national teams such as: U-15, U-17, U-19. The age-based national team should be given the opportunity to play enough international matches and should be sent on more foreign tours. There should be several conditions for promotion from professional junior cricket to professional senior cricket. For example: Age must be above 19 years, For a batsman- batting average should be 50+ in domestic league of junior cricket, strike rate should be 100+ in ODI and 150+ in T20I, contribute to team's win, etc, For a bowler- the economy in the domestic league of junior cricket should be below 6 in T20 and ODI, bowling average should be good and should contribute to the team's win, etc,. Promotion from junior cricket to senior cricket should not be given if the above conditions are not fulfilled. Because there is no need of thousands of cricketers but rather few cricketers are needed out of thousands of cricketers who can represent the country at national and international level. Young cricketers who regularly perform well in the domestic leagues of professional senior cricket should be given opportunities in “Afghanistan Emerging Team”. And those who play well regularly in the emerging team should be given a chance in the National Team. And among the cricketers who have been dropped from the national team due to poor performance and those above 25 who should perform well in the domestic league of senior cricket should be given a chance in the “Afghanistan A team”. Later those who regularly play well for the A team should be given a chance again in the national team. Along with the national team, emerging teams, A team should also be given the opportunity to play enough international matches and these teams should be sent on more and more foreign tours. This will enable them to prepare better and succeed in international cricket for the national team.
