I really like one unit of broadsides in aux cadre so long as you're not running a 6-brick of rampagers as you can use advance and shoot strat every turn on them and they're super good into big tanks without needing the +2Str and can punch into T13 if you do use it. I also really like Riptides in aux so long as Starshatter is meta as S10 Ion accelerator hits really hard into T9 and the Riptide can survive a DDA, where a hammerhead easily gets oneshot even if it's not on an objective. It's also very good into their heavy lokhusts, which are a huge problem for our chaff. I wouldn't run 3 and I would drop them if T9 vehicles and marines drop out of the meta too much, but I really like 2 right now as a meta call.

I have seen some people play lots of the new Tau Detachment but id love to see how it does against a good player playing the new Necron Detachment. I still am not sure about it over kauyon for singles

From my preliminary testing and what I've seen, the castle-crons meme list (TSK, 3x DDAs, etc) is a good matchup for the new detachment if you play it well. If they play slow and cagey, you trade better than they do and if they go all-in, you can divide and conquer while maintaining a roughly even score with your better scoring units.
I'm not sure if they have a more well-constructed balanced list. I was getting diced to high hell and was not far ahead in score, but was still able to win by ~15 points. I think a better crons list with more MSU and scoring units would be a very hard game, though.
The lists I've practised against have been slight variations on
Imotekh,
TSK,
3 DDA,
command barge (which I think is a mistake. If you want the enhancement aura, I think an overlord is definitely the way to go),
2x reanimators,
2x spyders,
3x enmitic heavies (which were definitely a problem. I think if they run 2x3 enmitic heavies with lords, we need serious answers to them. Riptides are good into them without needing the strat, broadsides are amazing into them),
hexmark,
flayed ones,
solo lokhust destroyers
and tomb blades.
The Riptides were superstars into this matchup. They die pretty easily because DDAs do stupid damage even without you standing on objectives, but they can soak a decent amount of firepower (every time one of my tanks got targeted by a DDA, it was picked up in one activation... ) and they clean up heavy destroyers nicely on their own and hit really hard into DDAs with the +2 STR, so if you put 2-3 Riptides/Sky Rays into one, you can usually pick it up if guided by stealths, which reminds me that you need to be SUPER careful to protect your stealths & shadowsun. shadowsun is surprisingly snipeable by them, which is a big issue if you're not careful. I almost lost her turn 1 to tomb blades going scout 9, advance 18 and taking some pot shots, then shooting and scooting behind a wall.
Is there any chance the objective markers will come back in stock? They'd go perfectly with the cherry blossom T'au scheme I'm working on!
