  • Charlie Greene, founder of Remento, shares why he created this company and what he hopes to bring to the world.
This journey started with loss, loss, love, and gratitude. Charlie’s old family movies of his father brought into sharp contrast the absence of those same memories of his mother. When the family faced a health crisis, he and his sister put together a set of questions to guide a meaningful exploration of their mother’s life-setting out to meet her as a person, not just a parent. What resulted was a rich tapestry of stories and traditions and insights that demanded to be shared, and not relegated to a crowded cloud storage library. They bootstrapped their way into an interactive dashboard made up of edited stories and shareable to extended family.
But it didn’t end there. Reflections, photos, and home movies came flooding back. People wanted to build on the things their mom mentioned; they wanted to add their own photos from the same events, link to the song she mentioned in a video, or attach a letter she had sent. The concept of Remento was born.
By gathering reflections across time, people, and content, we have found a new way to express and absorb love; an opportunity for digital media to serve as a true complement to our most cherished relationships. Our goal is to inspire others to demand more from the masses of content in their photo libraries; to bring intention and meaning to conversations with loved ones, and to feel supported doing so.
