- Former NBA player and coach Byron Scott tells Larry Bird stories. Basically Larry Bird was the biggest the trash talker he ever played against. He would tell his opponents exactly what he was going to do them and then do it. That's why they call him Larry Legend

“I’ll save my right hand for the lakers”
Larry bird after dropping 27 with his left hand on the trailblazers
And he fucking backed it up by winning the Lakers game too.
@@i.robles5785 🐐🐐🐐🐐
That's the most badass thing in the entire history of Nba 😂
@@i.robles5785 He’s unfortunately not in the goat debate. Chamberlain, Russell, MJ, etc are, but he isn’t. It sucks that even PISTOL PETE MARAVICH isn’t in the conversation and everybody copied him. Even MJ has to pay homage to that man.
@@TripleKmafia Russel in the goat convo over Kareem 😂
Loved how he made opponents look stupid. Embarrassed them. And backed up his trash talk.
Mans was just built different
@@sensitivesussi3ty314 I was tossed into a swimming pool when he stole that inbound pass and passed the ball to DJ. I was the only Bird fan among a clubhouse full of non Bird fans. They poked their fingers in my face, but I froze and never took my eyes off the TV. Bird did his thing and I hit the ceiling. They grabbed me before I hit the ground and tossed me into the pool outside.

Cool, he'd still get dropped by my glizwald

Larry Bird was the man! MJ said he learned a lot from him
Trash talking and taking shit personally

Just two country boy greatness
of course he learned from someone that was better
Mj did'nt do a larry bird level of trashtalk.. because he did'nt have the confidence and skill to do it.

I like how Larry bird can actually fight
Larry used to get into brawls with his brothers. So he was well experienced in butt whoopings.
White country boy, of course he can fight....😆😆
He was known to bar fight
Nothin better to do in Indiana
I would've been honored to have my ass kicked by Larry Bird...
Larry bird is one of the greatest in the NBA Larry Bird and magic Johnson brought basketball back when it was at it worst that rivalry was legendary
Facts! And then MJ took it worldwide.
@@blackjesus6433 MJ did make it worldwide
The Stephen Curry and Lebron James rivalry will be remembered just like the Magic vs bird
@@kyriegotswag1961 you're absolutely right

Larry Bird was King of Walk the Talk. We gotta give it to him
This man Larry was at a 3 point contest and asked the other contestants who was taking second lmao, bro was COMPETITIVE
One of the competitors said “YOU” which was even more savage
@@Asian2706 and larry won which was even more savage
@@edicerar5055 Eh, I guess
@@Asian2706 that's not savage if they lost
@@Asian2706 thats not really savage if some random talks back and says “you” to larry legend - thats just a poor comeback if anything and not creative. Mightve been better had hr actually won. The equivalent of a children saying “i know you are but what am i” essentially. Larry won so its not like he backed it up either.
Miss that era of badketball.
These players today are soft
@@bubbygedling3833 Larry disagrees

Larry is a legend. Toughest SOB from the 80s hall of fame players.
Just the best NBA player
Never get sick of Larry bird highlights.
Bro just threw rodman 💀💀
That's they called him the " Rotten~man "
Dude put Rodman in a headlock. That's cap.
Larry bird was the type to talk trash, but could back up whatever he saying he would do in the game, unlike players like Pat Bev who trash talks and looks like a clown because they suck
What are you talking about? Pat Bev just held Luka to like 40 points the other night
@@codyeble6764 😂
@@codyeble6764 stop the cap
Pat bev dosent suck hes a great defensive plyaer but he sure as hell cant back up the trash offensively and why tf did he say lebron is easy to guard or some shit like that hes like half a foot taller and 2x stronger than pat bev will ever be
@@noahsg7631 I disagree that he is a good defender, but I do agree that he has almost no presence when it comes to offence
This man was different class. To tell opponents what he is gonna do then do it wow man.
I can think of no other player who has such a wide variety of anecdotes. From trash talk to spectacular plays, to clutch moments, to overcoming setbacks/injuries, to come-from-behind miracles….Larry Legend is a Unicorn.
He was not just better than 99.99% of those he played against, he was much smarter as well. “Legend”!
David Stern, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird took NBA to the next level.
Then MJ took da NBA above and beyond
Then lebron took the nba to the highthest level

I watched Larry at Terre Haute, IN when he played at Indiana State. Like nobody that ever played before or after. He just knew HOW to maximize his entire team's ability. He made every guy out there better. Best passer. Best thinker.
Larry Legend was good for it. Always backed it up😇.
James Worthy said "I'd rather Guard Jordan than Larry" then he said "Jordan made you look slow. . . But Larry made you look Stupid"
Larry Bird is in a class of his own!!!! Period dot!!!
Love the Larry Bird shorts. Keep em coming. He's a LEGEND!!!
Chuck (Daily) who's guarding me Chuck?
-Larry Bird
Chuck looking down the bench like I don't know LOL
He channeled all that back pain into pure domination.
Larry bird is like the only player I know that ever played in the NBA that was actually born and raised in Indiana so you know he was talking that s and was not taking none .
Wasn't Shawn Kemp born and raised in Indiana? I know for a fact that Desmond main and Gordon Hayward are also from indiana. I think Zach Randolph is from Indiana also. Hell there's probably a lot of players from Indiana throughout the history of the NBA. Matter of fact I'm going to Google it in a few minutes LOL
Every state says it. Every single one.
What the fuck does Indiana have to do with it? Lol random ass flyover state

Larry Bird: A brilliant Basketball player!
The one and only, Larry Legend
He absolutely was different..... It was a pleasure to watch his entire career....
larry was a breed you can’t repeat
He is one of the toughest to play. No flop no referee scamming no crying for fouls.id pick him over durant or lebron in my team.
i still think one of his best moments is when he asked whos finishing in second before a three point competition
And he won it while wearing his warm up jacket!
A true tenacious disciplined beast on the court. A Competitive Force the kind every coach wishes he had.
Larry vs Jordon all hell breaking loose 🤣.
Bird didn’t back down from anybody.
Atleast he could walk the walk
It’s a well known fact and one of the reasons he’s considered Great
Bird took everybody to school, no matter what anybody says... G.O.A.T.
A legend but definitely not the GOAT
Loved Larry!
The legend. My fave player of all time.
When basketball was basketball Larry was the goat.
EXACTLY!!! #33 LARRY BIRD!!!
When basketball was lame and slow
@@ayidonno I don't think it was lame. I enjoy watching old basketball games and respect how them guys built the league. I started watching basketball at 6 years old in 1993. Having said that the slow part is definitely right. I love how the league passes, shoots and scores today. Every team runs transition in today's League like they were the Phoenix Suns LOL
@@cheyenne11114 yh so you agree with me, the only problem with today's NBA are the refs and how they're not allowed to play defence
@@ayidonno yes I agree that the game is much faster, I don't think that it's anymore exciting though. It's just different. I really like today's game though. referees have always been terrible. That doesn't mean that all of them are terrible but there have always been crappy referees in every league and every sport ever LOL additionally it's not that they're not allowed to play defense. The NBA is a family product. Back in the day guys would get clobbered and huge fights would break out. The NBA decided that families didn't want that. That's just what the data reflects you know? Additionally now that NBA players are making between $15 and 50 million dollars a year, owners don't want them getting injured because of an unnecessarily hard foul or a dirty play. When that happens the owners are on the hook for a big ass contract for a guy who is owed a whole lot of money and is now injured and might not be the same player moving forward. They protect assets. It's the same reason you can't hit the quarterback in the NFL anymore. They're just worth too much money.
Certainly the best era of basketball
I could see why they put a stop to that Bad Boys stuff. I love the 80s tough basketball, but that Laimbeer clothesline looks enough to have ended his career or take a year from it.
You see though Larry was swinging now even after that clothes line these sissy’s would maybe wrestle or look at the refs immediately afraid of suspensions.
When Larry threw the ball out of anger it ricochet and still went in
Larry talk trash and he back it up! Legendary!
Most underrated ball player ever!

“That’s my goat 🐐 right there” 👴🏻
Larry legend! He was great . Best clutch shooter ever
Larry is a Legend
Larry Bird was different... he was great!
Best story I ever heard from larry was when the bulls and celtics we're in warm ups before a playoff game, and jordans shot hit the front of the rim and rolled to bostons side of the court and Jordan ran over to grab the ball and larry threw it over his head and told him to go get it 😂🤣
This didn't happen in a playoff game in happened at the Olympic tryouts or some sort of 🇺🇸 basketball team event back then all 🇺🇸 Olympic squads were college kids not pros if im not mistaken
Larry was great!
Bird wasn't no punk. Respect 🫡
Larry knew how to throw down.
Larry Bird would just tell them the fundamentals of what he’s gonna do and it would get under their skin
That last clip he had the presence of mind to back flip Rodman and still get back into position to make a play. That is unbelievable.
Larry is definitely top 5. What brings him closer to number 1 if not number 1, is if I was starting a team, Larry is the guy I want to begin the team. Without a doubt.
Larry legend.... 'nuff said.... He & Magic redefined & saved the NBA.
His ability to back up his trash talk with action, follow through, and success is what made him so great. Had the Supreme pleasure of watching him play. Growing up in New England, when I did, I feel truly blessed to see some of the greatest sports legends that ever played the game, whether it be Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, or of course, Football.
Back when it was more about the game and less about the dollars. Good times. Better times.
He wanted all the smoke and he was about that life too LOL
Another GOAT
Fearless ! Guy never backed down anything or anyone
The difference is, everybody liked Larry's trashtalk 😄
I don’t think this generation of basketball fans realizes how great Larry Bird was. Injuries slowed him down, but; he was one of the best players I’ve ever seen in my lifetime, including Dr. J, Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson.
The G.O.A.T. Larry Bird
Isaiah Thomas wanted to be on Larry good side 😂😂

I watched the birdman from college thru the pros.He was just having fun with his GOD gifted talent and didn't even have to try.
Bird was CONSTANTLY practicing and working to improve.
Bird had the ability to back his trash talk up.....ya gotta give em that!
Damn Larry was ready to scrap at any second 😂
Larry Bird was a cold hard killer on that basketball court no question, Who knows how great he would have become even more before he hurt his back, And that’s scary.
Even though he's considered by many to be an all-time great, he's the most underrated player still
Agreed

I mean that was made him even better to watch. Plus being a minority in the sport I'm sure he took a lot of talk off the court.
Larry Legend was the best...the GOAT...one player,no one could stop...
Tension creates structure
Bird may not be the goat but he was the most badass player ever “I’ll save my right hand for the lakers” after dropping 27 against the trailblazers 😂 and my favorite was “is your mom watching” he backed his shit talk up too, man I love bird
He didn't just talk. You step over the line and he would rumble!
Best white hooper of all time. The best park of his game is he is not scared of nothing. What a legend.
Doncic>jokic>bird
@@ayidonno😂😂😂. You smokin heavy. Larry 3 time in a row MVP 30/40/50/ club. 3 rings and actually played defense.
Every other player talked trash. Bird simply spoke truth.
The time playground fouls were common fouls
That's why he's called "Larry The Legend". Baddest white boy to ever play in the NBA
That fight with Laimbeer and Rodman showed the dog that Bird had in him.
What made him the best trash talker is that he was also one of the best ever. Lots of people can talk a big game, few can back it up like he did.
Fun Facts: Larry Legend learned to Trashtalk before he could walk.
