Hi 👋 I'm viewing from New Zealand. I'm in my sixties in age, and in the late 1970s i worked for a film distribution company here. The company released the movie Quadrophenia in 1979. A perk of the job was i could see films for free. I went along to the premiere of Quadrophenia. I also had the movie poster. I enjoyed the movie. I was into Punk then. But i liked Soul music too.
Born 1951 so just missed Mods & Rockers but had motorbikes all of my life. Did have a job as scooter messenger 1967 and I was surprised at how much I liked it. Sadly let my manager have a car and he stacked it and I ended up with a mini van. If only I had brought it as damaged. Great video and two wheels are two wheels as far as I am concerned.
Will be 62 soon, and born in…’62!!! So we lived this moment again and again. Nostalgic warm memories with excellent music. THE GEAR, BIKES AND MUCH MORE. Love it!!!!
Brilliant video. I'm 79 and remember those days. I had a flat at the bottom of West Street and remember Madeira Drive packed with scooters at weekends in the late 1960's and 1970's. 👍
I love the scooters and the music another brilliant video from the man .the mod mecca that is Brighton .from an old mod of nearly 71 I want to go to the bank holiday my self possibly next year long live mods ❤🎉🤩😊😎🤗

They ought to have a WHO Quadrophenia museum in Brighton….Liverpool made a success of nostalgic youth…so could Brighton…crowd surfing in that dancehall…sleeping in the shore vaults, now a smart hotel., public baths and pie peas and liquor….theres so much material to work on…trip past Keith Moons house ? That Brighton view from that road on the downs…where was that?
Great to see so many scooter loving people coming together.....I came over from Australia and was on the IOW for that weekend..5,000+ there too...and had such a great time meeting like mined people from all over the UK....and being back on a classic Lambretta Li150 helped...RIDE SAFE GUYS>>>AND ENJOY!
Being a Biker all my life, and had to live the Harley lifestyle. I built many nice bikes. As i'm older and arthritis is kicking my butt. I build small bikes now, custom made to my order, Cushmans with Vanguard V-Twins, Honda Ruckus Custom, Now i'm building a 1980 Vespa P200E. With a long list of performance upgrades, like a Quattrini M244 punched to a 252.......just a long list of upgrades and safety componets. Should be on the road soon. Awesome video and cool people. Just a kid at 16! But I used my savings for my SX200 in 1967.Drove the 18miles to college & the factory apprenticeship, sounds like traditional years....yes it was back then. Lost the Lamby showing off in a smash up. Ended up with a 1959 Frogeye Sprite then off to Canada in 1972. Wow, the front of the scooters look so short now.
I was into the Scooter scene in the 70s before the mods, we were Skin Heads, and the scooters were the ideal mode of transport to get about on, usually to get to the next fight down the Villa or the Blues, great memories from my youth, Vale Onslo in Birmingham used to be the place to go for our chroming or buying accessories, those were the days!!
I went to vale onslow just by chance 25 years ago- he had an original bambini sidecar and scooter for 900 quid! Believe it or not the sidecar was gold with original leopardskin seats and I was told it was a total one off by the shop owner and was displayed at Birmingham NEC back in the 60s !
Bought a few NOS Triumph bits for my 64 Bonneville in the late 1990s from vale Onslows . It must have been a great place to go in the 1960s . Unfortunately the whole area looked very run down when I visited. The old boy was still working in the shop then as were his elderly sons . Very helpful people.
