Throwing away a nat 20 to get caught in an obvious and unhidden trap in a horror campaign is such a great move. I loved that for him.
And you can tell Brennan was happy Lou did so, because then he could break out the high pitched insanity voice

@@pikazookaou could also watch Brennan's tone shift in real time to match Pinocchio's train of thought. On the Nat 20 perception lines, he's giving an honest overview about an obvious trap. But then you see him smile, realize what Lou's doing, and pivot to narrate about how delicious the hotdogs are. Absolute legends.

It kills me every time. It truly sounds like it hurts him deeply to laugh that hard. It sounds insane, I’ve seriously never heard someone laugh like him.

Explains how Lou plays his characters to a tee. He'd much rather fuck up funnily then succeed boringly.
Lou's commitment to the Pinocchio voice for that entire season was bonkers. Like early on you could see everyone being like "hey, are you seriously going to do this?" and he HARD committed.
Lou does NOT seem like the kind of guy to half ass something, for better or for worse

Hearing Lou say "Fresh Glizzy" in his Pinocchio voice rewired my brain chemistry for the better

You gotta appreciate the character progression from everyone jumping up and yelling for Nat 20s in Fantasy High, to Neverafter where Lou just nonchalantly tosses them away for The Bit™.
Pinocchio could have used mage hand to grab the hot dogs but Lou was so committed to the bit that he threw away a Nat 20

25:28 Lou says he's "chasing the feeling", and his character is a wooden doll so is unable to receive any kind of inhibition from narcotics. So you could say he is quite literally "high on believing"
The pirate incident is still, to this day, and i've watched/played A LOT of ttrpgs, my absolute favorite thing ever. Just the escalation of "nooo" from Lou while everyone is just taking the piss out of him is just *chefs kiss*
It's my favorite moment in any actual play and it's so sad that I can't just show it to anyone because there's so much lead up to it.

I cannot remember the last time I laughed that hard. And the change in the joke from “how do wolves like to…” to “how do you like to…”. I mean the absolute confidence in telling someone else how they like to have sex is just incredible.

That "Ball Rolls Up" clip is probably the hardest I've ever laughed at a D&D clip. Every single sentence was gold and sent everyone even further off kilter, once they'd realized how stupid what they had just said was.

Beyond Lou just being an absolutely wonderful, record-breakingly hilarious and good and lovely person, his fashion sense is off the fuckin charts. I LOVE his style so much - the jewelry, the beautiful shirts/sweaters/fits, he’s just _GOT IT_ yknow?? Just an endless stream of cool ass jackets, BEAUUUUTIFUL earrings that are actually works of art, him workin turtlenecks like he invented them, layering perfectly paired items like it’s his jobbb, i just got to the episode in the Neverafter campaign where he’s died his locs teal and omg it’s fabulous. I just love it. I gotta go put his looks on a pinterest board or something.
Lou, you’re cool as hell. Sorry if you see someone running around in accidentally worse combinations of all the coolest shirts and earrings you’ve worn on camera. And thanks a million for sharing your delightful, BRILLIANT self with the world. We’re lucky to have ya!

As someone who’s never seen any of this, the whole deal of some guy struggling to tell the story of how last night some weird octopus guy came over and tried to eat his brain then killed all but 4 of his fathers followers and one of them threatening to shit in his mouth has caused me to taste blood from laughing so hard

So, here's what happened.
There was a Benjamin on the ship when another Benjamin came on board. So now there were Old Benjamin and Young Benjamin. Old Benjamin retired but Young Benjamin was still on the ship. Another Benjamin came on board but he was actually Young Benjamin from a similar situation on another ship, so he became Old Young Benjamin because he was older than the other Young Benjamin.

James Bond sits down at a baccarat table, ends up rolling 2s and 5s on deception and finds himself prisoner of the villain. A nat 1 on persuasion leads to the villain simply shooting Bond in the head instead of using his nice elaborate trap.

(One of my favorite dnd history stories is an army invading with like, 50 men and returning with 51. A guy just said fuck it take me with you. Also an ancient Chinese one where an army was deterred bc the city they were going to invade bluffed such a level of confidence (going outside and setting up tea, inviting the invading generals to sit with him) they assumed the city was prepared to level them all and bailed. The city was not remotely prepared to survive that invasion. They turned away an invasion with *_the power of whimsy.)_*

Starstruck is the only thing I've ever called a comfort watch, and it stays that way even now. Genuinely the only show I ever go back to when I'm upset, and a large part of it is Gunnie's insane antics. Feeling himself, gambling, the maple cakes, pleasure, the shortest FTL jump ever. Gunnie is an unstoppable force of chaos within the universe, and we love him for that.
