      @@CeriMiddleton It was my first long tour I have a cross bike which is now a tourer I have two v small rear panniers max weight incl bike is under 25Kg trying to get it under 20kg but frame is aluminium. Thinking of going back to a compact and maybe tubeless wheel set. I just love bike touring always messing with my kit.

    Hello, great video and adventure!
    Do you mind telling me what tyres you were using. I'm planning a road , light bike tour which looks similar to your trip (ideally all road) so wonder what you used ?

    • @CeriMiddleton
      @CeriMiddleton  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers! They were 32mm tyres that came with the bike, felt a good balance between comfort and speed!

    Bro, I am impressed by your stamina and determination in eating up so many miles each day. But i also can't help but think that there was something manic and rushed about the pace. You were going like a bat out of hell. Were you pressed for time?

    • @Chilam.

      Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I mostly used my Garmin and phone with Komoot on. I had planned it roughly before I went, and think the canal sections were part of the Santiago route. Hope this helps!

    wow, this is so inspirational, thank you for sharing! i was thinking in doing something similar, any recommendations on the bike you used and how you managed to bring it with you and then take it back home?

    • @CeriMiddleton
      @CeriMiddleton  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much for the kind words 👍🏽 Go for it, you won't regret it! I used my Norco Search bike, which is a road/gravel bike sign 32mm tyres on. Something like that would probably work best so you could cycle on both roads and some of the gravel/off road sections. I flew from the UK, and at both ends I just went to a bike shop and asked for a spare cardboard bike box they were throwing away - works a treat and you can recycle it when you arrive at your destination!

    • @CeriMiddleton
      @CeriMiddleton  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I cycled around 10-12 hours a day I think. As it was February the day's were still shorter, so it did include some riding in dusk, but not too much!

    Why do travel vloggers use the same old worn out camera trick, going ahead, riding past the camera and then hwving to go back for it? It got old really quick. It's so distracting and fooling no one.

      Personally, I feel it gives another angle and perspective, as well as a different type of shot. I try to incorporate a range of angles, rather than just sticking to one. But thanks for you feedback, always happy to hear what people think!
