I looked into Grotusque's G1 bio, and honestly, he's actually a pretty cool guy. The only real reason he's not afraid of anything is because his alt mode is so HORRIFYINGLY UGLY. In fact, he's even a jovial jokester who rarely stops smiling and always makes jokes on stuff like how ugly he and his alt mode are in order to lighten the mood. He even says that Primus must've been drunk off his tailpipe when he made Grotusque!
Limited slots for completely new molds. If Repugnus got a new mold then one of the other new mold characters would have had to have been dropped. And no you can't say something like drop Krok and make a new mold Repugnus as Krok was a repaint.
If this has proven anything it's that Repugnus didn't need a new mold. Grotusque's use of the mold just needs new wings, a new head piece for the back, new claws, and a different tail section. Maaaybe a new set of beast legs if they're generous. Otherwise, the mold suits his bodytype perfectly.
You missed a small feature. There are slots on the sides of the beast head that let you store the guns. In Robot mode this comes in handy if you don't like using the wings storage, and you can aim the guns up so that Grotusque can use them at the same time as wielding a Titan Master weapon. Emgo316 made a funny comment how in beast mode the guns on the side of the head form deadly "hearing aids". Maybe some sort of other adjective, but he definitely mentioned hearing aids.
I'm really happy the monsterbots are got more love Titans return. I do hope they do the same for the Turbomasters and predators because let's be honest who would like to see boss from potp jazz or skyquake from starscream
I say this because if you've seen the leaks for power of the primes this weekend that had g2 defensor/inferno you'll notice that his shoulder is a light/ powdery blue and it looks like the front half of jazz's car mode but in arm form. This where I think this might be a confirmation for boss because not only is it similar to boss's color scheme, people have been saying that jazz maybe a pretool for boss and I've actually brought this up to a couple people. There has been a rumor that the Turbomasters would show up and this was the same article that brought up the dinobots and they've already been confirmed so I'd say we'll get the the Turbomasters down the road.
nice review though you did miss transform the arms for monstermode they're meant to flip around 180 and open the white flap at the top and then spin the elbow around , not sure why they did it that way all I can see it does is hide the Autobot logo . there is storage for the weapon in robotmode too . if you notice on the side of the monster mode head there are indents similar to that on how the gun fits in beast mode on the back, so when its flipped onto his back you separate the guns and plug them in either side of the monster head .
a general release would be awesome! thanks Balt (not sure if other users had t his problem. But suddenly I was unscribed from you) just noticed why I wasn't getting your updates. Great review (I want him so bad. I wish the clones would have a general release too)
The way you open them it put a table knife, a letter opener or something like that under the leading edge and push up this releases the tab with no risk of harm
There's a brand new Grotusque in my country, but he's in a set with TR Arcee, which I have dibs on so long as I can find a group buyer. Easier said than done...
I just got the TRU version for a Valentine's Day present from my girl......she's awesome!!!..... I really dig the figure. Aside from the slight issue with the leg transformation, I think it's a great figure. I'm having trouble figuring which mode to display him in. Scorpinok looks amazing! Love the detail to both titan masters. On another note.....Twinferno was a peg warmer in my neck of the woods, but he finally disappeared. I still like him, myself, but I keep him in alt mode since it looks better tom than hot mode......
I think you can pin the guns to the sides of the beast head in robot mode (there are two rectangular gaps that look similar to the combining parts on the gun... bit that's just my guess-timation.)
Great review Balt it's a nice figure but I wish it's beast mode had more to offer something like cheetor mixed with megatron's dragon form beastwars, with bigger more articulated wings, one large blaster, a tail that turns into a sword/whip, and a better color scheme.
You should do a series on the transformers micro transformers. Idk if thats the real name, doubt it, but basically it was a whole bunch of mini transformers in one box, and they all have M's on them. Also, do you know why seemingly all the tiny transformers, such as the ones that turn into weapons for other transformers, have these little holes in them?
Beep Beep lettuce They're called Minicons, and they have holes in them so they can connect to the pegs that are found on larger Transformers Armada figures.

Fedex sucks they said they delivered a package for me of about $350 in warhammer models and it never arrived then when I called them on it they were showing me fake signitures
This mold should have been used for Fangry hopefully that’s what we will see from this mold. This is not Grotusque. The colors are nice and he looks decent in robot mode but this alt mode does his g1 counterpart no justice other than the head sculpt .Should have gotten better for a HASCON Exclusive. Just my opinion anyway love your reviews and thanks for posting a review for this figure.

They just announced DELUXE CLASS REPUGNUS is coming in 2018, so all three of the G1 Monsterbots will have been given deluxe class toys. :D

Sadly there was no general release and it's being scalped on Ebay and Amazon for 65+.
