  • Dr. Eben Alexander had an NDE (Near-Death Experience) and discovered what happens after death. He saw seven beings/angels, and after leaving his body was shown future events. Gary's NDE (Near-Death Experience) showed him that there is life after death, and it was a life-altering experience that changed him forever.
During this thought-provoking conversation, Dr. Alexander sheds light on the awe-inspiring details of his NDE, offering insights into the phenomenon of encountering a divine presence, the feeling of unconditional love, and a sense of interconnectedness with the universe.
As a skeptic turned believer, Dr. Alexander's story challenges conventional scientific beliefs, igniting a global conversation on the existence of an afterlife and the nature of human consciousness. His powerful account resonates with countless individuals who have had their own near-death experiences or those seeking solace in the face of mortality.

I’m 21 and I lost my dad last month, massive heart attack out of nowhere at 54, it’s been the hardest time in my life, but it gives me comfort knowing he’s in a better place, and I have faith that he’s watching over me and my mother and my siblings. He was the best father and my best friend. Until we meet again man

Continue having that faith because that can be the only thing u have left people can get upset at something they don’t understand so they would rather turn away from the fact that god could exist and would rather believe in scientific evidences but they funny thing is I love science and it never disproves the existence of god at all so don’t listen to the people who don’t believe in god because they are just ignorant lol.

I am currently experiencing an existential crisis. I cannot explain it, but one day (at the age of 19) I started to dwell on my mortality and faith. Hearing of experiences like these, especially by people who were atheist/scientists, make me feel closer to God. They comfort me so much in times of great distress. Hope that whoever reads this has a blessed day, God is with us all 🙏🩷

After an attempted suicide, I too had a NDE, it was beautiful, but it was not as much visually pleasing, rather it was more of something I felt. It was very much as this man said, it felt amazing, no pain, it was light, but not glaring, I felt a love like I'd never felt before. It was weightless and judgment free. When I was brought back, I was actually angry to be alive. I didn't want to be here.
What I saw were shapes like Bryce Canyon, only it was in pastel rainbow colors. There was a wall, as if I were to go through it, but first I saw who I thought was my deceased husband. I called out to him several times, got closer and closer, and was so excited to hold him, but suddenly I was being pulled backwards very quickly to the hospital, hearing the nurse say, "BREATHE!". The tube was removed and I started coughing frantically.
Because it was a suicide attempt, the nurse would not speak to me at all. I felt hated and judged. There was no room at the mental ward, so they put me out in the street. I am no longer suicidal, but I do look forward to being dead again. The best thing about being there was I was not judged like we are here on earth.

My mother passed away in 1995. In 2014 I happened to be passing through the village where my late mother once lived. I decided to call into the small Church and say a prayer of thanksgiving for her life. I later walked down by the riverside and once again said a prayer for her, at the end of the prayer the sun came shinning through the trees. I took a photograph of the sun. A year later I was about to delete the photo when I noticed in the top left corner red and blue rays attached to a white blob and an orb of light. (See the thumbnail photo on my comments) In the orb there was a face of a smiling young woman. The woman was my mother, I immediately recognised her smile.

What makes me worry is that Dr Eben Alexander was amnesiac during his NDE: he didn't have any memory of his life. That's what worries me. All of NDEs that I know of were not amnesiac; they knew who they were and who those people around them were.
Is that possibly because Dr Eben Alexander's brain was completely destroyed. If so, doesn't it imply that his consciousness was somehow under the influence of his brain function which was so much damaged by the maningitis?

    • @ds90seph
      @ds90seph 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I would argue that memory is irrelevant once our consciouness is transposed - however that's done. At least the way I understand it, we don't really *need* our sense of self or our Earthly relationships once we've moved past this plane of existence. I know that can be intimidating, scary, and quite sad when framed in the context of this life.
However, I think that it's truly necesary (and likely quite relieving) to lose those tethers to our reality once in that space.
For one thing, it would be too painful for us and it would pull our consciousness in the wrong direction if we yearned to see the living, or yearned to be back again. For another, I think we move into a more naturally connected form of existence anyway. So, theoretically, once our loved ones join us in the afterlife they'll feel familiar and near not due to physical proximity or close friendship - but due to a universal connection through spirit which permeates us all.
Of course, this is all merely spitballing and there's no way for me to know either. I simply hope that even if we lose our sense of self, we can be with the ones we love.

I believe the best definition of consciousness in the biological realm is 'An awareness of space-time'. A lot of creatures are aware of space time to one extent or another. Essentially any creature that moves about deliberately. Dogs certainly are. Of course, they will be there. I have come to believe, based on the evidence, that the entity we call 'self' is in fact an isolated portion of the universal consciousness. That the brain is both the steward of its limited connection to the universal consciousness, and the mechanism that keeps it isolated during biological life.
Personal anecdote: Every Labrador Retriever I ever met knows exactly who I am. Like they have known me for a long time. A quality of the familiar that is unmistakable. I suspect they are a little less isolated than we as humans are.

Sir, I’m so sorry to hear of your loss and I hope this reply finds you in better spirits. I know the brokenness and hopelessness you’re experiencing because I suffer from it too after the loss of three important people in my life. My younger brother kicked it off by ODing, 49 days later my mother passed from a broken heart after losing my brother and a few months after my mom, my uncle, who was like my father, passed after an illness. It’s most difficult some days to want to keep going, yes I agree, but we must.
Your wife was correct!! There is a God and He LOVES YOU! A verse comes to mind when I read your comment… somewhere in the Bible it says Taste and see that the Lord is good. That statement is for you… try Him. There’s no harm in that. He’s waiting for an invitation from you to come into your life, to meet you wherever you might be on your journey. Once He reveals Himself, you will never doubt His existence again. I promise you.

I so wish I could remember what happened during that time. The tumor took out my balance so I am in a wheelchair. I just wish I could remember what happened during that time. @@Crystalquartz964 A beautiful one!
It happened to me in 2018 by the end of August, on very hot and stuffy evening. After I bedded our 6 years old son (back then) I joined my wife in the living room for our evening program to start. I was telling her something as she interrupted by asking me if I was OK. She said that my head was turning very pale. I wondered about it and added I was alright. Then she pointed at my lips saying that they were fading away. At that moment I felt that something bad happened to me really quick. I stood up from the sofa and everything turned murk and blurry around me. I could hear less than usual and felt like I was about to vomit. Her last words I still remember shouting were "Put your legs up, legs up!" Right after that everything turned into impossible black. A heart attack. I did not notice what was happening to my body because it was half a second quick. All of a sudden I was just standing and watching at the gras. I raised my head a little and saw the most beautiful meadow of eternal love and light which I felt right from the start. No pain, no sweat, no pressure, no time, nothing bad at all but pure love, cherish and freedom. I always thought I was free - no. THERE I was really free. I had no connection to anyone on earth. As I started to walk around and I could not see anyone but felt some divine and loving presence on my side. It took me about 8 hours in whole walking in Gods place. During my NDE my wife was struggling for my life because I was on the floor before her with my eyes and mouth wide open (chocking) which I even did not notice of. After about 3 hours of walking in Heaven (it felt like home) I heard some distant click and stopped. I tried to figure out what it was because it felt like it was about me but nothing more came after that. So I took a deep breath and went on. And this one breath was like I breathed in all life in universe. And I kept on walking..... until a huge avalanche of Light full of all golden colors run through the meadow and embraced me completely. I never felt THAT loved and cuddled! Then everything disappeared and I found myself on some white grey realm without walls. This is where I asked myself for the first time "What is going on here?" Suddenly i saw my wifes face diving into this realm from right and left in black/wight colors. I could hear her voice calling my name very very far. I felt very confused and worried that something bad was taking place. Before I came back to myself I heard my own voice saying "Now its gonna hurt! Now its gonna hurt!". I was wondering "Hurt? Why? Who are you?" Little sting in my heart was the first thing I noticed as I came back and took a breath. I lay on the floor with my legs on the sofa - my wife managed that for me. My first words to her were "Why have you taken me back? I have already been to where I was supposed to be at!" We could not even talk about my nde a couple of years. This changed my life forever. Since then I have no sense for fear anymore and I can see people moving themselves towards Heaven or Hell in this life.

This one in particular gave me one of those Zen enlightenments in my life: the fact that music plays such a great role in my life that I always want to introduce pupils in my work in daycare to every musical experience I can offer them, like playing on one of my instruments or doing a songwriting workshop with them. I really have always believed in the afterlife. I am wondering how my dad was able to do what he did after he was killed on a car crash though. My dad had just gotten divorced from his second wife and was actually suicidal when I talked him into moving from Texas to Indiana to live with me and help me and mu husband with our 3 kids while I was in nursing school. We had 3 wonderful months with him living with me, and then he was hit head-on and killed. It was two days after he died that i was sitting up on my bed watching Oprah. I heard the doorknob to my bedroom jiggle. I jumped up and went out to the living room, but I didn't see anything. I sat back down, but then felt someone else sit down on the end of the bed. It then felt like someone was crawling up the bed. I threw the covers up expecting someone to be there, but I didn't see anyone, but I could feel someone sitting in front of me. I then heard a loud popping sound. I became afraid at first and ran out of the room, but i calmed down and apologized to my dad. I felt and smelled my dad for 2 more days and then he was gone. My brother also had an experience and my dads best friend said my dad came to him and told him that he knew he was going to die so he came to spend time with his kids and apologized to him for not visiting. I used to worry that he was trying to tell me something at the time, but I don't know how he was able to be so physical right after death.

One particular show was about consciousness and Dr. Eben Alexander had a guess spot about his brush with death and his description of his experience with the afterlife. I was intrigued and did some further research on Dr. Alexander that led me to the book “Proof of heaven”….That book changed my life profoundly! Is that possibly because Dr Eben Alexander's brain was completely destroyed. If so, doesn't it imply that his consciousness was somehow under the influence of his brain function which was so much damaged by the maningitis?

My first inclination is to intellectualize the heck out of everything but it does nothing for the deadened connection. Listening to these NDE’s has been one of those tools to bring me back. This one and many others have a way of breaking through my harshest skepticism and bringing me into a remembering and knowing that I need no further explanation for. So thank you to everyone involved in sharing these stories.
And also to anyone who relates, do these cycles ever get better?😅 I have a lot of stressors which I’m sure pull me out of myself, maybe time will resolve some of it if I can’t otherwise get a better handle on things.

My Uncle died in his hotel room the other day, he had been a loner/recluse his entire life. He reminded me a lot of myself as I like doing things alone, I also used to spend nights in hotels alone and i can see why he couldnt be bothered with other humans. It hurts knowing he died alone, but I know he is with God now and I'll see him again soon.

Our bodies seem to be vessels by which we experience our participation in the consciousness that is God. Even our perceived mortality just allows us even greater experiences of that. An analogy might be that as Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, and Snoopy were lovingly created into being by Charles M. Schultz, and we through them experienced that love and their existence, so are we God's beloved characters, immortal in his awareness.

I concur that that 'out of body' place is crisper, more real and I felt so much more awake there than here. Plus the audio was just something else. I'm a composer and sound mixer and the audio here is confined and limited compared to the omnidirectional whatever it is audio in the out of body place.

He’s selling a book etc, just after money, it may be that he genuinely,y believes it therefore isn’t necessarily a con man but it doesn’t effect that it’s 100% bs. Not to sound too negative, life is the ultimate gift ,all the more so that you only get 1. It’s a bit cocky and greedy and fantastical to think we get another go afterwards. So every person that has a NDE is fabricating it for money or publicity?
I highly doubt that because there are thousands of accounts. I don't think everyone who has a NDE is making it up, but I think some do.
The rational explanation is that it's the brain releasing chemical's and causing unconscious hallucinations. But you can't say that everyone who claims to have a NDE is lying because there are too many.

    • @ShamanOaks

Thank you! I’m considering bringing back some of the DMT content. I spoke with Eben a bit about DMT. Just in case I don’t post it, he basically said, he tried DMT himself as a form of research. He says that DMT does get you to the same place as a NDE, but it’s like looking through a keyhole, while a NDE is way more expansive and complete.
I’ve never had an NDE, but from what I hear I think that’s true. I feel like I got quick glimpses of the same areas in my experiences.
He said that there’s been research into psychedelics and that people used to think they lit up the brain and that’s what caused the visions, but he says they’ve actually been shown to shut off parts of the brain. It’s the shutting down of parts of the brain that allows your spirit to go to other dimensions, which is why he was able to experience so much while his brain was offline during the coma. Interesting to think about.

Try alittle common sense how would someone who had never died possibly know whether or not they were "near" death"?
You are " near b death" every..... single,,,,,,,, second........ of....... you... life.
I f you die and know you are dead you are not dead, because dead *Means* No_After* because is hat death *Means* If you experience anything after death you did not die because it is axiomatic the at death means*No_*After)or it is not deathexperience

When I read the book, this is what jumped out at me. I hope you see this comment and can give your opinion on this?

I have talked to many people who went through NDE we have never experienced the same thing but there were somethings that were close. The Spirit and Soul are quite amazing and this guy's story is just that. Everyone will see what they can relate to because we are a compilation of everything that has touched our Soul.
