Michael, these are rare and valuable records (with good quality too) of Singapore. Really appreciate your effort and generousity.
Video cameras as we know them now did not exist fifty years ago. I used a 16mm Swiss Paillard Bolex movie camera.
Thank you Michael, for that glimpse of a Singapore I was too young to appreciate. Great stuff!
This is amazing.. Thanks MichaelRogge for sharing. i wouldn't have a chance to understand and experience this..
THANK YOU MichaelRogge for sharing this clip, very beautiful, looking forward to your other posting.......
Hey Mr Rogge, Thanks for this clip. I'm from Singapore :) but this clip was made way before i was born...and I assure you, nope they don't have markets quite like this anymore.You'd be surprised how much our little island has transformed!
Separately, as there were no sound cameras in those days.
After fifty years I forgot!
My mum used to buy meat at this market in the early 60's when we lived there!
I was making a television documentary for Dutch Television.
@sheiksha83 Or he is convalescent in an old age home! He should be around 70 years old by now!
@MichaelRogge if there were no sound cameras in those days, then did you record the sound separately ?
You must have had a very good video camera. The clips are so clear! What brand did you use?
Michael, I was wondering, was the sound recorded and added separately?
haha guess that half naked boy should be driving abig BMW now staying happily in a condo now...
This is from Chinatown
So Michael were you there on holiday, or were you there as a professional making a documentary? Interesting footage.
@sheiksha83 good one haha
