    Okay... So I'm in Queens and the area has soooooo many stray cats it's not funny, I have yet to see a rat while out at night. Brooklyn used to have so many strays as well and then they said nope take the cats away and nowwww we have a crazy rat problem. Rats are literally chilling on the steps of brownstones in some of the most expensive neighborhoods, we walk in the street. PA has this thing where you build these little cat homes for cats for the winter because it's less expensive and less harmful than pest control and poison.

    So weird, I live right outside of Chicago and visit frequently... I have very rarely seen rats and they are usually seen hiding in dark alleys. I have been to NYC *ONCE* in February of 2020 and witnessed more rats than i could count on both hands running around the mountains of trash lining the streets and the subway tracks. Interesting

    • @DJEmpress333
      @DJEmpress333 2 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      That's because Orken is lying. Not only have I NEVER seen a rat in Chicago after living here for close to 8 years, Chicago does not leave bags of trash piled up on the street like NYC does. Of course Chicago has some parts which are very sketchy but even those parts aren't allowed to have bags of trash piled up anywhere. I've seen a few mice running across the train tracks but have yet to see one rat. I'm not saying there aren't rats in Chicago but I haven't seen any and there definitely isn't more rats than NYC, not even close. Or LA for that matter. Chicago is a Top Green City well-known for how clean most parts are.

    There is one area in Toronto where people stack bags of garbage out on the street like in the video. Guess what they have problems with? Outside the city, everything is locked up in cans. Residential garbage is picked up on a specific day and nobody puts their garbage out earlier, if you do, the raccoons will tip it over and throw the garbage everywhere and it make the area look like shite as every day is garbage day.
    None of the rats can get in my garbage cans. During the pandemic, the rats left the cities and came to the suburbs. I bought an electronic trap and killed all the mice and rats that came into my shed. Over 21 of them. I threw the dead rats and mice in a specific spot and the raccoons ate them. Three neighbors got cats. In 2022 there were zero rats or mice in my shed. I was going to move to exterior traps that just broke their necks and dropped them outside so I didn't have to empty the other traps. I had wifi enabled battery powered traps that told me when there was a dead critter in there. I used some fatty BBQ to get them to come to the free lightning ride.
    NYC needs to stop letting people toss garbage around like it's medieval times. They also need to get traps that feed the mice and rats poison that will be carried back to their nests and kill the other rats. They need to fine people and businesses that open the front door and toss out garbage bags on the sidewalk. People need to get personal and their own traps My neighborhood was cheering me on. If we all had traps like mine we would easily nuke as many as 300 rats per night in my small subdivision. I have killed more than one probably as much as three in one night.
    The racoons and skunks ate the rats and mice. The coyote ate the skunks and the raccoons. The foxes ate the squirrels. Once the food dried up, no coyote and no fox.

      @@aphillips5376 Victor Smart Kill. Mine is the WIFI version that tells you that you have a kill via an app. They have other cheaper models that don't tell you, so you would have to keep checking them. Just turn them on an angle and the rodents slide out. There are other ones that will kill outside and empty themselves via gravity so the rats don't come inside, but they cost more.

      Both problems are connected. Littering creates an unclean city, which bring rats, which worsens living conditions, which increases crime.
      Civil conciousness about hygiene is necessary to fix the problem and, thus, to solve one, you must solve the other.

    Say trash pick up is Monday morning 8am, you should put your/ our trash out Monday morning at 6 am 2 hours. The night before is daft because 8pm compared to 4 on isn't making any difference. I still say put the trash out 2 hours before they pick it up.

    It’s not like rats demanded food from the neighborhood. People/businesses , who were irresponsible with garbage caused it. Now poor rats will face the consequences of what people caused.

    This is just dumb. What difference is it gon make if thr trash is out for 10 hours vs 14hrs. It's still a whole 10hrs for rats to feast. Why not put it out an hour b4 the trash man comes and put traps all around the cans. I mean if you gon take an aggressive approach they gon have to do better than this!
