Hi Henry. Thanks for sharing. I am an AECT student in Hawaii, and I am majoring in architecture. I am very passionate about architectural design and really want to get in the AEC industry. Ive been submitting resumes to architecture/construction firms here in hawaii but never receive anything back, cuz they require degree. Now, Hawaiian electric just responded to me and i was interviewed as a junior draftsman. Im just a little concerned, though I am thankful, cuz it is a different trade and i might be drafting electrical and it is not aligned to my major. Is the job a good jumpstart to my career as a future architectural/civil draftsman? Thank you, Henry!

I’m thinking abt to start studying architect but my concern is about my sport career life…. Bodybuilding… I do love buildings and I have made sure about studying and becoming an architect by my question is do you think an architect will be able to workout everyday and kinda have a sport career beside his work? I mean basically for bodybuilding you just need an two hours a day for a workout and consistency with food…

Hey man, Im working on a project that is going to SHOCK a small California town this summer. I'm preparing a 30-40 min video of the different changes I want made. This video will be played over one weekend at the local theater and I'm expecting several thousand people to attend. As for me, Im a small town boy who moved to the Bay Area at 22 years old. Culture shock to say the least. Im now 54 and live in North Idaho. My project is essentially going to be a complete rebuild of my entire hometown which is approximately 20,000 people. (Residential and Commercial). Anyway, in designing my project, I'm having tremendous difficulty in finding what I'm looking for. All that is needed for now, prior to an actual approved design/plan (months away), are some EXTERIOR building ideas only. The first phase of this project, will be for the complete demolition of the uptown district of Mainstreet. Half of the businesses are now closed and the building(s) are 100+ years old. Having been more well versed in culture than before, I'm now wanting to bring a Modern yet Rustic design to the area. If this is something you might be interested in discussing further, please let me know and we can proceed from there. Thank you so much!!
