A 1200 is still really good and you still have time to improve it if youre worried about it!! i used khan academy and princeton books
@@miahsanchez i got an 1100 on my first try and i’m going to be a senior this year 🥲. i’m planning on retaking the test this november, but my sat score is really the only downside in my application, so i was wondering if you think i should try going test optional?

For me I took a baseline and saw that I desperately needed to work on my English so that's what I spent a bulk of my time studying for and I ended up improving my score!! Khan Academy is a great resource to practice/ learn also.

I know this is from a few years ago but how did you find the engineering school at Cornell? Was it a pressure cooker? Doable? I know someone who may be interested in applying in a few years.
Hello! My question is that my transition from 8th to 9th grade was tough, I wasn't supposed to be in an ESL class in 8th grade but the school put me in that class because there no seats in regular classes, so it didn't prepare me for high school since ESL classes were much easier than a regular class, it did affect my 9th-grade grades since there's a big difference in ESL classes and honor classes, I took honor classes in 9th grade. It has a big influence on my freshman year grades. Do you think should explain that to colleges and they'll understand and take it into consideration? So maybe they can focus on my sophomore and Junior year grades. And SAT. I think they will understand my GPA and class rank as well because of that. Does this count as an extenuating circumstance? And during the spring semester, because COVID-19 just started, my family moved and I couldn't be able to attend classes like usual and which results in my inability to complete the assignments assigned by my teachers.
Can you tell me if I can get accepted to Cornell with this marks: Class 9 - 49% Class 10 - 74% Class 11 - 60% Class 12 - 93.75% I am really worried for my acceptance and I think they would reject me for my grades. But in EC I had---- Been Vice captain of my House team, Worked in 2 NGOs, Represented my school in various competition , ranked 5th from my Grade 12 batch in final exams, Anchored various events in my school , got 1st division in Dance competitions, completed 5 years in classical dance, did research project on Sociology( which I will be doing major on) etc. Still i have no hopes of getting accepted. Please tell me, do I have any chances of getting into it?
