Hey guys, RUGBY 25 IS OFFICIALLY OUT IN EARLY ACCESS. Weve all been seen its had some pretty mixed reviews, but wanted to showcase some of the positive elements about the game, by showing the side by side comparrison with rugby 22.

A Rugby 25 Vs Rugby 08 gameplay/mechanics comparison would be good. I think the mechanics of 25 are closer to 08 than 22.

@@1112-g1x No they aren't. They are clearly inspired a lot by '08, but is widely regarded as the best Rugby game ever, so that's a good thing. By there is no copy-paste going on.
Rugby 22 with improved player models, menu system and licenses would of been perfect. Plenty of quality sports games out there that they could of reference from for a baseline of what works well.
Focusing on graphics, photogrammetry and to an extent licensing is pointless for a game like rugby that has failed so far to capture the feel of rugby. All the time and energy needs to go into game play to ensure they capture the spirit of the game while emphasising fun over simulation. There are not enough rugby video gamers to make a simulation based game sell well, they have to capture the casual market. Put in a robust player, team and tournament creator with sharing and the rugby purists will take care of the authenticity part for you.
Forget rugby 08, just use the gameplay of Jonah Lomu rugby which i believe still has better gameplay than rugby08.
I don't understand If licensing is the problem. Why can't the game developers just do RWC and the we can have a custom mode where we can make our own competitions
Because they want the game to be successful, and not only for enthusiasts on PC who mod etc. If they have put in all the work for face scans and licensing now, future sequels will be a lot easier to make too. You can probably use these face scans for like 4 years too. Stadiums that are made in game will last indefinitely.
The better this game does, the better chance that they can continually develop it....and therefore sell a better product.
I personally like it when it is official and the players and clubs are represented well. Non-gamers who love rugby want to play with their team, kids too.
Best example is PES vs FIFA. PES died because it lacked authenticity, despite being a better game, technically. FIFA outsold PES 10 to 1.
I agree. Just let game modders get at it. What we want is a game with good mechanics and editing features.
@@Edgycoo We will have team editing features. But what about the PS and Xbox players. Modding is no fun for regular players. I would say less than 1% of people who game like to mess around with mods.

Rugby 25 is going be mutch better
The lighting , Camera, Shadows , Grass, Etc , are much better in Rugby 22. I cant understand how is possible to have a downgrade on these aspects./

Rugby 25 graphics a bit better and that’s it. Step down from 22 from gameplay standpoint
Think thats most peoples opinions on the game so far, looking forward to see th evisuals applied to all teams, but as you mentioned, the gameplay is certainly the area everyone is hoping gets a big upgrade.

Sad how Rugby 08 is still miles better then any Rugby game made after it, 25 doesn't look very good especially the gameplay looks garbage
Great to see them patching things already. Keep up the good work! Your feedback will improve the game for sure. I am too noobish to give meaningful feedback. I noticed that if the clock is up for the half and the ball is trapped in a ruck, the scrum is called instead of the half ending.
Yeah theres a few rules that seem to have been missed off, like at the minute you ca just run offside and there is no penalty.I think the small patch they put out today has cut down on the ball getting trapped a lot, but you are right, should absolutely end the half rather than play the scrum.
I don't know anything about rugby, but the part after the tackle seems INCREDIBLY slow in 25. Like, they lay there and move the ball back, which, okay, but the AI seems like it doesn't cover the ball. Like you have to manually move players over the top of the tackle. Just seems super weird.
far from a quality game. phisics problems everywhere. rugby is far from fifa or pes..

The background stadium in the team selection screen in rugby 25 beta is the aviva in Dublin
With how the games been during this stage, I feel like this game should've still been handled by the same developers as 22 (Eko), meanwhile Big Ant do photogrammetry for the game. The game would feel much more complete/more photogrammetry done + maybe came out earlier.
yea ths is exactly wht i thght was going to happen eko had a pretty nice rugby engine developed and its jst been binned 4 this rll copy n paste job
Yea, every time a new developer comes on you pretty much start again (in this case start from a rugby league game 😂😂)
HB studios had 4 attempts to get to Rugby 08. If EA had continued with rugby games since then we would have had a rock solid game by now.
The animations and ai looks like a PS1 game also need more individual dynamic AI and less like a school of fish.
There are no positives. Does it play like rugby? No. Then it's utterly pointless as a piece of media.
It's early beta, it can only get better. Being so negative from the jump won't really help anything. We all want a good game.
Are any sports games exactly like the real life thing?
It's heartbreaking to be honest. A lot of the things in the game are just copied from RLL. Makes you wonder why they prioritize face scanning instead of nailing gameplay mechanics. Tackle animations have also been confirmed to be used from league by Ross. I get its early access but is it really beneficial to release it even in this state? Feels like they're riding on the community to make the game better now too. For a "passion project" like Ross calls it, it falls embarrassingly short.
They sent another tweet/X today. They showed their rollout for the next 3 months.
Are there any game modes like maybe a 7s mode or something
I could feel it in my bones that we would regret R22
So far 22 is still much better
EA makes madden every year they make rugby08 and is still the best why dont they make rugby games anymore
