Kevin busting 7 or 8 circle megaspins with one hand no less in 88's on skyways with probably max 60 PSI if even. Such a ground breaking rider with so many timeless tricks.
I'm happy to see Kevin was not perfect all the time, but I bet the surface hurt a lot on the gliding tricks. That said, Kevin missing a steamroller was nice to see, to see that we all can work up from there. I think he could do one blindfolded with only 1 hand, 2 feet - for as long as he would like anymore. One can only hope to get to this level, but he did it by doing mostly his own tricks.
Great footage. Can tell that parking lot had some incline to it, some of the gliding tricks seem to speed up. Kevin was already a forever legend by this time. Crazy to think this is pre hitchhiker and backpacker and how big his impact already was. Also great to see Gerry Smith in this. I think this run was either a qualifying run or run off. There's another run from this same 88 event on Vimeo a little different but more solid. Being from Florida watching Gerry was so exciting back then.
What gets me upset is how today’s spinning flatlanders don’t give this man his props. Sure there were flatlanders before him but he is the reason today’s jerks are spinning
One day I had this cool new idea of a trick with both feet on the front pegs, tipped over, holding the back wheel...he told me one thing...watch the new Dorkin' video. I had an idea; he had the trick dialed already, and the backpacker in both directions. I still want to see a trick he never finished afaik called The Transformer. It would've taken another decade to come up with the tricks everyone is doing now, he started it all.

Kevin didnt truly progress until he got rid of the damn mags.I love the fact that whoever recorded this recorded nothing but flatland.
BMX and Black Sabbath as background music! Thats Perfect
Anthrax..Black Sabbath cover playing in the background and old school BMX takes me back to simpler times!!
I was at that Austin AFA comp. Good times! I think I got third place in my class.
The K- riding flat wearing a helmet, and none on the ramps......This is just him......

He really liked that seat post, stem and bars. He used them for years.
To see a video of him not landing every trick is absolutely mind boggling.
Never forget kids, the helmet is for flatland, never for ramp-riding.
Great bikes and runs
G-turn from the very start ? Must be a good video!
Pengalaman saya saat main sepeda 😅😅
