Sgt. Boykin was probably the saddest. Guy lost his entire unit, was(in all likelihood) abandoned by his superiors, and was driven mad to the point where all he could do was complete his mission dispite none of it mattering anymore.
It's a shame they decided that Boykin had to die, he could have been an ally of Chuck's where he would help him clear his name, he could warn the base not to bomb the city because there were still survivors and he would also bring to light the corruption of Phenotrans.

I think that it isn’t that he actually loved her, well he did i just think he went insane and to cope he thought himeself to be the slappy mascot and not the person under the costume, the dead girl mascot is probably his co worker or a dead body of a girl he dressed up in the costume just so he could have a reason to kill people.
Pro tip: the toy spitball gun (not the flaming one, just the regular one) does insane damage to the helicopter. The balls are treated as thrown weapons rather than projectiles, for some reason.
Honestly I think Randy disturbed me the most out of all these bosses. Just the fact there are more and more people today showing signs of his behavior almost is just giving me chills. I usually don't care for side NPCs but this poor girl kind of made me sick when I seen the props inside the room afterwards. It's awful.

Ted might've been, shall we say, disadvantaged, but he even says that he intends to feed people to Snowflake because it's fresh meat. I'm going to assume Chuck was going to be the first victim because there's no way in hell you'd let a tiger hang out with your child if it already had a taste for human flesh (or at all, really, that's just horrifically irresponsible. Maybe Snowflake can sense that Katie's infected, so it takes her off the menu or something). He doesn't even bother to get steaks, which are literally scattered around the place. Bringing him to the safehouse was just asking for trouble. You can feel bad for the hand he's been dealt, but that doesn't make him less dangerous.
I don’t. They put animals down that have had a taste for human flesh. Ted, being Snowflake’s caretaker, would have known that. Yet he was still determined to feed her human flesh. It wasn’t for Snowflake’s sake. It was because Ted wanted neurotypical people, or anyone he deemed smarter than him (I haven’t been able to beat that fight yet, so I only spoke to the survivor once, but he seemed to have a speech impediment, which could imply further) to all die a horrible death at her hands. Ted was NOT Snowflake’s friend. You can especially tell she doesn’t care about him when you can take her back and give her a new owner (Katie) big cats tend to form a tight bond with one caretaker alone. She wouldn’t have accepted Katie had she had a bond with Ted.

That lust for fame and fortune drove him over the edge and his plans would eventually .....fall flat Bibi Love: Bibi was an old washed up egomaniacal singer who was so deluded she thought zombies were her fans as she tried to crowd surf them. In the end though her star faded from the sky long ago. She shot for the moon but burned out in the sun
Slappy is the only "psychopath" that in my opinion deserves our sympathy. Just look at him. He works as a mascot in some store. From the part that the girl loved him for who he was we can assume that he had hard in life. But he mets her and they fall in love. The first person to really love him. He'll finally get to date someone. And suddenly, the girl dies by some monsters. He finally found someone and lost that person before they could even start their relationship seriously. And then he sees at the TV that it was all "caused" by some man. It's obvious that Slappy wouldn't believe a word from him and the fact that the loss only helped his sanity to deteriorate didn't help. I feel bad for him.
I also feel bad for Carl, Seens like he could only adjust himself when following a strict routine, but the, outbreak, being out of his control, ruined his perfectly fine and organized life

I do like how a lot of psychopaths of the Dead Rising trilogy are portrayed; many are just regular Joes and Janes that got thrusted into a literal hell and just snapped. Granted, many psychopaths could be those types that were rotten, and the zombie apolcalypse just made things easier to come out. Ted did deserve better ending though. Poor guy; he just loved his kitty.

I played this game at a very young age and don't have the words to describe how terrified I felt when I first encountered Slappy. I ran away from the fight and every time I got near him I just ran past him
I love how coffee is represented in video games. In real life, sure they give you energy, but in games like this, it turns you into sonic the friggin hedgehog. I guess it just depends on who you are
The protagonists in these games are like “I have offended this murderer, now instead of trying to talk it out I shall do this the easy way and solve this with violence.”
What are you talking about? There are multiple scenes where they try to talk it out with them but they go and try to attack Chuck after. Slappy, Ted, Leon, Brandon, and even the Sargeant where he lets him live after defeating him.

Putting everything aside. The absolute balls on all the dead rising main characters. Frank, Chuck, and Nick. These guys are literally fighting people with chainsaws and flamethrowers.

I know a lot of people would choose to spare Ted if they could. But the problem with him, like a lot of other psychopaths, is that he just could not allow it. Theres a lot of psychopaths who were genuinely good people, but they were pushed beyond their breaking points. Either seperated from reality, or so burned by their past lives that they've lost all hope for humanity. Unfortunately, Ted is the latter. He was mocked and scorned by everyone he ever met. Only finding comfort in the one thing that loved him as he was. Because of this, he just could never trust anyone. He's always going to assume that you're just another person trying to mock him, to trick him. He's well beyond his breaking point. Its what makes him such a tragic character.
Sgt Dwight i felt bad the most in this, he loved his unit and he watched in horror as he was the only survivor after a horde attacked him and his unit he still thinks that someone will save him and his team ( he is in grief so much he turned insane not believing his team / unit died )
Man, I haven’t played this game since I was 14. Leon was my first boss and he gave me quite a bit of trouble. The hardest thing in this game for me was keeping up with Zombrex doses.

i mean, these psychos, were obviously already disturbed before the outbreak and they just tipped over the edge. dunno who was under the female costume, but i suspect that he was likely stalking her, making her feel uncomfortable at work, but she might not have ever said anything out of fear of losing her job and he really had no care for the person in that costume. it was the costume, or the character that the costume represented that he was in love with.

Carl the mailman was dedicated to his job. He never missed s day or a delivery. In the end he went postal...and his death certificate was signed
Seymour the Security Guard: Seymour was a power tripping lunatic hanging people for the littlest infraction. He should've saw the signs because as it turns out ....he didn't have the guts to be a real cop
Ted and Snowflake: As bad as it feels to make a joke of this I wouldn't be lion if I said Ted may not have been the brightest bulb but he treated that tiger right and even offered himself with his dying breath. He may have gone crazy but he was a good man deep down.
TKs Helicopter: TK tried to fly the coop with what was left of his show's dirty money. Unfortunately for him being hooked to his greed caused him....to crash and burn
Sullivan the Phenotrans Agent: Sully was misguided just like the rest of his company. They thought by sacrificing human lives they could save more and as a bonus make money. In the end it seems more died than were saved and Sullivan was only half the man Chuck is....and that will always tear him apart
TK the Host: TK was a selfish greedy bastard who did it all for money. That lust for fame and fortune drove him over the edge and his plans would eventually .....fall flat
Bibi Love: Bibi was an old washed up egomaniacal singer who was so deluded she thought zombies were her fans as she tried to crowd surf them. In the end though her star faded from the sky long ago. She shot for the moon but burned out in the sun

Slappy is the only "psychopath" that in my opinion deserves our sympathy. Just look at him. He works as a mascot in some store. From the part that the girl loved him for who he was we can assume that he had hard in life. But he mets her and they fall in love. The first person to really love him. He'll finally get to date someone. And suddenly, the girl dies by some monsters. He finally found someone and lost that person before they could even start their relationship seriously. And then he sees at the TV that it was all "caused" by some man. It's obvious that Slappy wouldn't believe a word from him and the fact that the loss only helped his sanity to deteriorate didn't help. I feel bad for him.
He's a lot more messed up in OTR. Still creepy but sort of ruined the sympathy when he called her a "toy" that needed fixing

I do like how a lot of psychopaths of the Dead Rising trilogy are portrayed; many are just regular Joes and Janes that got thrusted into a literal hell and just snapped. Granted, many psychopaths could be those types that were rotten, and the zombie apolcalypse just made things easier to come out.

What are you talking about? There are multiple scenes where they try to talk it out with them but they go and try to attack Chuck after. Slappy, Ted, Leon, Brandon, and even the Sargeant where he lets him live after defeating him.

I know a lot of people would choose to spare Ted if they could. But the problem with him, like a lot of other psychopaths, is that he just could not allow it. Theres a lot of psychopaths who were genuinely good people, but they were pushed beyond their breaking points. Either seperated from reality, or so burned by their past lives that they've lost all hope for humanity. Unfortunately, Ted is the latter. He was mocked and scorned by everyone he ever met. Only finding comfort in the one thing that loved him as he was. Because of this, he just could never trust anyone. He's always going to assume that you're just another person trying to mock him, to trick him. He's well beyond his breaking point. Its what makes him such a tragic character.
