    Hello, I came to look at your website from the Wanderlust 2023 course. I was like you, & hadn't done any art journalling since Nov last year, mainly due to renovating my craft room, & in the process, I lost my mojo. Also felt overwhelmed with a couple of art courses I enrolled in & hadn't started on time with them. I asked a crafty friend who has been doing a lot of mixed media lately, to give me a couple of prompts every 2nd day for a week, & I found that helped me finally to get out of my slump. It was gratifying that we are not alone sometimes!

    Very inspirational! I just happened across your channel and really enjoyed listening to your advice and seeing your creation. Two of the things I liked most are that you started out with lots of color and that you said it really doesn’t matter how it turns out as long as you enjoy the creating. So true. Thanks for that reminder!

    Thank you for your suggestion about sticking to monochromatic color schemes. For oil pastels, you might want to consider putting in a piece of tissue paper cut to size to prevent the transfer of color onto a two-page spread.

    What kind of pencil did you use to make the black lines. I'm new to this kind of art and just discovered you here on TH-cam!😊

      Hello and welcome! I made the video awhile ago but if it’s the green looking pencil it’s a Kimberly pencil in 9xxB. If the handle itself is black is probably a Stabilo All pencil.

    Oh I know how you feel. Several life events have got in the way of my own art practice and I ended up thinking "oh what's the point, its never going to happen" But then I got myself a gelli plate and just made random prints. This got me back into it a bit so I feel calmer and more like "me" now :)

      Gelli plates are the best! Can just sit around and play and make random papers.

    This is lovely! I'm doing grid art journaling. I've never really gotten into mix media that much but I'm really enjoying it lately. Thank you for sharing.

    Do you put freezer paper behind your working pages?

    • @LaurenBellArt
      @LaurenBellArt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends. If it’s a junk journal I don’t. If it’s more of an art journal I do but I use deli paper because I have a ton of it lol 🙂

    I'm with you- I look at Instagram for inspiration but I don't watch challenges or flip throughs. It doesn't feel good for my brain to see the end results of someone else's work over a period of time.

    I'm glad you said "the art journal is for ME". Enjoy it! I tend to want it to empress someone else.
