Just caught up to all of your Bleach Manga Review "Done-Kai" podcasts, y'all should plug it more! I didn't even know you guys made those Bleach videos following along with the manga pre-TYBW. The humor and banter in those are great 17:07 Yea nailed it on the head. Gremmy could've probably imagined Kenpachi was dead or something and won, but he wanted to prove that he was actually the strongest. Kenny just brings that energy out of people. Gremmy also mentioned that no one had ever even tried to lay a finger on him because they were afraid of him, so he's never had a chance to prove it, meaning he was super inexperienced in battle + he would want to prove himself. Part of that inexperience and weakness was shown when Gremmy couldn't react to Kenpachi slicing him in time. His "Visonary" Schrift means he needs to still react to the attacks in time to dodge or block. It also seems like he can't keep his attention on too many things at a time or some of his powers will reverse. He couldn't heal himself and block Kenpachi's slash at the same time, he couldn't keep Yachiru's bones as cookies and fight Kenpachi at the same time, and it seems like the damage from the outer space vacuum wasn't sustained once Kenpachi cut Gremmy, like how Yachiru's bones reverted. 22:30 I love that about Bleach. Fights in Bleach are Kubo's way of showing a character's or Kubos' own morals and philosophies. Even in this episode it's a metaphor for anxiety and overthinking causing a person to create a situation that is way more daunting than is reality. Imagination is amazing and is the basis of dreams and innovation, but no one talks about how imagination is a double-edged sword that can also make a situation seem hopeless or insurmountable when it isn't. Gremmy is the perfect embodiment of that idea. Beautiful writing
Umm actually Joshua, he never said bankai🤓🤓🤓🤓 besides that the animation, music, and the pure absurdity of the episode makes this easily one the best fights in Bleach 🔥
This episode adapts almost 9 chapters, by far the most they've ever put in an episode, and they surprisingly did a good job imo. There are a couple more minor things from the manga I would have liked to have seen that were left out, but I was fine with it otherwise. My main complaint tbh is how Gremmy exists in this weird vacuum in the manga where he is pretty much just here for this fight, and given his powers and the fact that he's a freaking brain, I was hoping the anime would expand on that a bit.
So Gremmy probably couldn't affect Kenpachi as he did with Yachiru since he did not have the same or higher level of spiritual pressure. So he manipulated reality around him instead of on him. However, if his imagination turned him into a "monster" then this goes out the window. In that case, it may be that he has to convince the other person that what he is imagining is real. Similar to how he pitched "your bones are cookies" to yachiru. Kenpachi has that unshaking resolve that Gremmy could not change his mental.
Kenny showing up in such epic fashion and saying to Isane what's been done always a great scene to me then goes straight to Gremmy who's one of my favourite sternritters hands down since his power is literally imagination which is unbelievably fun to play with from packing guns yeehaw, fires a meteor down and puts Kenny in space still slashing through that bitch like it's butter this episode was masterclass not to mention Yachiru dancing with her beasts was cute as heck
Gremmy is undoubtedly the most broken character of bleach but his lack of experience and intellect made him loose. He could've imagined Kenny turning into cookie or chocolate with no strength but he wanted to be stronger that's why he lost
I think it's a bit more complicated than a lack of experience or intellect, I think the entire point of the fight isn't that Gremmy has a limited imagination but that on a meta level he can't possibly imagine Kenpachi being defeated Also he definitely is not the most broken character in Bleach lol Yhwach exists lol
Well he cant i think, in the novels it said that gremmy was sealed for 1000 years and Ywach let hin free at the start of the 2nd court. So he was weak of spiritual pressure, so he cant use his full powers. He said that he coul kill Ywach, but he didn't have the enough reiatsu to did it, so maybe it's a similar case with kenpachi
@@Just_Red_ that is wrong Gremmy could imagine anything and it can become reality which was even confirmed. Gremmy could've imagined the same for kenny as he did for Yachiru or could've turned him into a weakling but instead he went for defeating him by becoming strong. If he went for the usual way of defeating, he could've easily imagined any scenario And visionary is indeed the most broken ability because it's stated that it had no limitations unlike Gerard's Miracle which had weakness of croas, Gremmy could literally imagine anything. As for Yhwach's almighty, Gremmy could imagine himself with almighty too and imagine himsepf with Soul king's body and power too. The possibilities are endless and it is heavily implied even im cyfow that Gremmy was indeed Soul King's brain.
Someone said that he had been locked up for so long and was never able to fight so he genuinely wanted to win so he didn't just imagine him dead or his bones turning into cookies etc. respectable honestly
We actually see a bit of Gremmy's past in the light novels that take place after the manga. He was so dangerous, Yhwach locked him away, and the only one who treated him like a person, and even gave him snacks while he was imprisoned, was Liltotto Lamperd, the tiny blonde Femritter who likes eating lollipops. There's a very good reason why we're seeing sympathetic Quincies more and more, or at least why we're getting more and more emphasis on Sternritter who are there for duty and not for malice or even hatred necessarily. Not all of them are monsters, not all of them are evil, and you're gonna see more of that as the anime goes on.
This episode was excellent! I love that Zaraki basically outwitted Gremmy. Something I don’t think he has ever done with an opponent. I do kind of wish that Zaraki had apologized to Isane for killing Unohana. Because he didn't want to kill Unohana. But that's not really who Zaraki is. It was a great piece of animation to see adult Zaraki transition into the child version of him during the whiteout moment where he cut the meteor in half. I love Yachiru. Both adorable and badass. My only complaint is the shot of Zaraki looking up at the meteor looked weird. His teeth were out of proportion. It looks like that infamous cover of Wolverine Revolver #1 to me.
Trivia Time: «Kenpachi gave himself his name, and gave her the name Yachiru ('Thousand Styles', 'Eight thousand/many flows' or 'Eight thousand/many exiles') after the only person he ever admired, Yachiru Unohana.» Censorship....(Source: Bleach Wiki): «Zaraki is less burned in the aftermath of Gremmy's clones exploding.» «Gremmy's body tearing itself apart is depicted as his fingers ripping off instead of his left shoulder pulling away from his neck and his ribcage growing through the left side of his chest.»
I have mix feelings about this episode, on the one hand I love the animation and the music as always was fantastic, but I feel that this fight could've benefited a lot if it was adapted in two episodes or if at least it continued during the end credits. They cut out the reaction from the Sternritter, soldats, Shinigami and even Yhwach to the meteor that was one of the best parts about this fight, that the two strongest members of each army were fighting each other one on one, I stil didn't like the way the fight ends, a little bit of breathing between scenes like maybe making Kenpachi's arrival more epic would've been nice IMO. And maybe an explanation on how the visionary works? Like why didn't Gremmy turn Kenpachi's bones into dust??? Is it something like he can't do that because Kenpachi has a shit ton of reiatsu, like when Soi Fon tried to killed Aizen way back in the fake korakura arc??? Anyway I still liked the episode but I think last episode was better and the previous season we got a better fight with Ichigo vs Yhwach
His ability allows him to turn anything he imagines into reality. He can't make his body indestructible or uncutable. The reason his no one can grasp what that is. The more complex the thought the more effort it takes to make it. That's why when he threw kanpachi into space he didn't harden his body. And as the fight went on he believed he couldn't defeat him. So that became reality.
What’s scary to me is unless something happened with his other eye, kenpachi was holding back. He didn’t remove his eye patch and didnt he fight one handed that whole fight?
The biggest strength and fault with gremmys power is that whatever he imagines comes true good and bad he has to control what he imagines or it will begin to work against him
There are missing information from manga. Gremmy is for real, one of the scariest sternriters. He could win, kinda in a ridiculosly easy way, but he fooled himself. Let me make this clear. Gremmy, a literal kid, no experience in battle (Yhwach took care to limit Gremmy, bcs how scary Visionary is), without any evolution form like others, stand there in front of a Shikai Zaraki who can btw can cut space. In fact, bcs how rushed the episode is, people doesn't even understand that, Gremmy litteraly CREATED AN OUTER SPACE. RIGHT THERE! We can litteraly see the hundreds of stars inside of. Askin, an ELITE sterniter, basically said Gremmy is dumb strong. Only what Zaraki did, was to show how beast he is, much enough to fool Gremmy into thinking to him as a real Monster. From there on, Gremmy killed himself. Gremmy is scary af. Even Yhwach is aware of it. Manga and CFYOW readers, understand even better from where The Visionary comes. Again, Gremmy was a kid, not the real owner of Visionary :))
There is a good chance Kubo directed anime team to nerf Gremmy though. Because there were lines like "Her bones aren't cookie anymore. Were you too focused on fighting me?" which imply that he has to constantly focus on people to have them as he wants/imagine. There was the conflicting dialogue saying Meteor wont go away if Gremmy gets killed but people are arguing this is because the meteor is simply inanimate that is why it can't resist his visions. While Yachiru can resist his visions. Perhaps he still needs to follow the rules of physics and doesn't vision a perpetual machine working because that's impossible. We can see him huffing and puffing after creating the outer space and self detonating the copies. Which means he has limits to his reishi. I think Gremmy was nerfed to preserve the scaling of the bleach-verse and in order to quell all the same arguments which were raised during the original manga run. Ultimately, I think Kubo also wanted to convey the fact that creative minds, often under pressure, get too into their own head start to over think stuff which leads to some kind of wasted creation or the creator overworking themselves to death. Kubo was sick while writing the end of this arc so he was probably thinking about this.
@@ark_knight Yes. There are multiple reasons for it. In order to understand how broken Visionary is, I only said the fact that Gremmy is literally a kid, who fought an overboosted Zaraki. And after all, Gremmy was clearly nerfed, but ALSO the main reason for his lose, was bcs he got fooled. In fact, Yhwach's list of potential war threats played a roll in this. That's from where Gremmy knew, Zaraki it's a monster. That preconception killed him. Theoretically, if Gremmy didn't knew who Zaraki is, he may never thought about him as being a monster. He may never even want to fight him. He could transform his bones into cookies as he did with Yachiru. But, bcs Gremmy knew who Zaraki is, and bcs also Zaraki showed how beast he is, he turned Gremmy into wishing to actually fight him. That was a mistake. It's an entire plot behind, with a logic bcs, even Zaraki said that "your power it's ridiculously strong". Even Gremmy said at the final, Visionary never lost to Zaraki, but only Gremmy's body.
@@Bandit.Chrollo I feel like that is the most we can conclude from the exchange that we were given. Its upto the IMAGINATION of the viewers/readers to vision what Gremmy could have done. Unfortunately, his limit was his reishi and his pre-conceived notion of Zaraki. Soul Soceity got lucky lol. In fact, the bleach universe got lucky in that regard lmao
@@ark_knight there are characters even more overboosted than Gremmy. I m not sure if his reishi played a roll in this bcs, this mdfk literally created a second Gremmy with a second Visionary, as strong as his. Like, wtf is this cheat code 🤣🤣 but logically, yes, his reishi should be limited to a point, even If featwise talking, he showed the opposite actually.
@@Bandit.Chrollo Oh I have read the manga, I know what's coming. I hate Askin for that. But Gremmy's ability is so up in the air because he talks as if he has no limit but he clearly did have limit lol. I suspect he talks a lot of bs because he doesnt know his own limit. Before he met Kenpachi, whatever he imagined, mostly happened. And Sternritters didnt let him imagine much by locking him down. So 🤷🏽 But its funny seeing fanboys calling this the greatest shonen episode ever. Like calm down hahaha

Im not sure if this is a spoiler or headcanon but I think Gremmy is just the soul kings brain. Thats why he didnt try to imagine Kens powers away. Something else that was weird was when Gremmy said “just as I imagined you”.
Fun facts about Gremmy. - His gender and age was unknown. As you've heard in this episode his body is also a product of his imagination - Gremmy was only good with Lilloto who brought him sweets which he likes - He was imprisoned by Yhwach because he was a menace and wouldve just killed Yhwachs Ritter for fun - He is stated to be the strongest Quincy next to Yhwach and that no one other than Yhwach can beat him. Which Yhwach did and imprisoned him - In the manga we also see a galaxy which is also actually called Galaxy room, his outer space feat. So he created outerspace instantaneously with dozens of stars and galaxy in it 😂. - He is hinted to be someones brain. (But im not sure if i can tell you maybe they gonna animate the novel
@@muchoyurdem5260 If you honestly think gremmy is the strongest sternritter you are just as dumb as gremmy is and I suggest you reread the manga. gremmy is not stronger than uryu, jugram, askin, pernida, gerard, lillie barro, royd loyd. gremmy is not even apart of the Schutzstaffel elite guard
Gremmy was no joke Killed 2 captains Summoned a meteor and outer space. If he fought anyone else they would had died for sure. Also some diagloue from other characters were cut like in the manga we learned that gremmy was locked away his whole life cause how terrifying his power's are he never had battle experience.
They made a big mistake when adapting chapter 577 in this episode IMO. The moment we see the meteor materialise, the manga shows the reactions of several characters on the battlefield, like Bazz-B, Askin, Renji etc. Even Haschwalth has a shocked look on his face. There is utter despair among everyone. All of those panels serve to amplify how much at stake there is, and how insane what Gremmy is doing is. In the anime all of this was cut. A real shame.
It sucks that the quincy are being deleted just because they are way too op. Kubo did not know how to handle them once they came back, so he gave plot armor and deux ex machina to all the soul reapers so they can have a chance
@@KingdomFinalXBleach literally there's only one thing that can counter just a single quincy ability, and that is the kyenraku pill to avoid the steal of the bankais but how about the rest?, literally they are straight up dumb now ; non of them can remember the other techniques like blut or slave rai for reasons, and those are plot armor and deux ex machina. One of these guys only needs to use slave rai and it's over for the others. And to finish this do you remember the last week, and how the fear of as notd stopped working magically once byakuya showed up? I can see if they wanted to portait schizotypal/schizoid personal disorder that Gremmy basically don't have decent range of emotions.
Ngl this was one of the weakest episodes of the season for me This was never one of my favorites in the manga but even then certain parts of the fight that I thought were really important were kind of botched. It looked good for sure but that's kind of all. Really really looking forward to next week tho
Absolutely not insane. Bleach fan, let's be honest, it was a fucking disappointment! Episode very quickly dispatched, without flavor, the scene of the meteorite which was the most impactful in the manga because even Ywach and Jugram shat on fear before the power and madness of Gremmy who could destroy everything, it was skipped and it's a fucking malpractice because it took away the drama of the episode! Next to that, it's clearly not the best animation we've had, and the OSTs were badly placed. Rukia vs As nodt remains by far the best episode of season 2 and even Renji vs Mask had more impact. In short, this episode was a disgrace.

Just caught up to all of your Bleach Manga Review "Done-Kai" podcasts, y'all should plug it more! I didn't even know you guys made those Bleach videos following along with the manga pre-TYBW. The humor and banter in those are great
17:07 Yea nailed it on the head.
I think it's a bit more complicated than a lack of experience or intellect, I think the entire point of the fight isn't that Gremmy has a limited imagination but that on a meta level he can't possibly imagine Kenpachi being defeated
Also he definitely is not the most broken character in Bleach lol Yhwach exists lol
@@Just_Red_ that is wrong
Gremmy could imagine anything and it can become reality which was even confirmed. Gremmy could've imagined the same for kenny as he did for Yachiru or could've turned him into a weakling but instead he went for defeating him by becoming strong. If he went for the usual way of defeating, he could've easily imagined any scenario
And visionary is indeed the most broken ability because it's stated that it had no limitations unlike Gerard's Miracle which had weakness of croas, Gremmy could literally imagine anything. As for Yhwach's almighty, Gremmy could imagine himself with almighty too and imagine himsepf with Soul king's body and power too. The possibilities are endless and it is heavily implied even im cyfow that Gremmy was indeed Soul King's brain.
Not that easy. Bleach is all about reiatsu level. And this fight happen too fast for him to think carefully
Someone said that he had been locked up for so long and was never able to fight so he genuinely wanted to win so he didn't just imagine him dead or his bones turning into cookies etc. respectable honestly
The quality. Set design & you guys, are well done man. Gs. Keep uploading, love the videos.
The scary thing about gremmy is the fact he NOT the strongest sternritter.
Jugram the "Balance" can beat gremmy easily
Gremmy is the strongest if you don't count the royal guard and Jugram.
But IMO Lile and Gerard are just insane monsters 😂
@@dimesjameluda1660Gremmy has more crazy feat than that fodder lol. If Gremmy has more experience he would clap all Quincy except Yhwach
4:20 gremmy is like the beyonder from xman😅
6:32 such a sick title
12:26 that was CLEAAAAAN🔥🔥
14:08 this episode was insaaane
Kenpachi's Shikai is stronger than most of the Captains bankai, even his base is {with eye patch on} is on pair with the captains bankai
Ngl you guys have become my favorite reactors for bleach
That's crazy! I don't know what quincy i like most, Gremmy was Awesome!!, Kubo did a really great job creating these characters 👏👏👏
Trivia Time:
«Kenpachi gave himself his name, and gave her the name Yachiru ('Thousand Styles', 'Eight thousand/many flows' or 'Eight thousand/many exiles') after the only person he ever admired, Yachiru Unohana.»
Censorship....(Source: Bleach Wiki):
«Zaraki is less burned in the aftermath of Gremmy's clones exploding.»
«Gremmy's body tearing itself apart is depicted as his fingers ripping off instead of his left shoulder pulling away from his neck and his ribcage growing through the left side of his chest.»
That brain is a part of the soul king mentioned in the novel
BTW KENNY DIDN’T TAKE OFF HIS EYEPATCH 😂
Love y’all reactions. You guys are the best.
i think joshua is into something about yachiru , you are in the right path
gremmy and as nodt RIP my favorite sternritters
He didn’t remove his eye patch and didnt he fight one handed that whole fight?
the reason Yachiru when she first met Zaraki didn't tell her his name was because Yachiru's real name is Nozarashi
So 🤷🏽
But its funny seeing fanboys calling this the greatest shonen episode ever. Like calm down hahaha
Legendary episode!
22:31 this is what bleach fans call kubology
I really wished they showed everybody’s reactions to the meteor or maybe dragged the episode into the next episode cause anime watchers are going to think that Gremmy wasn’t “all that” even though he had an OP ability but people should know that it’s literally like that in the manga, anime watchers were probably thinking this fight was gonna last longer than that.
Not enough people talk about how Kenpachi literally cut through outer space lol
He is him!!!
This was actually Gremmy first fight so he wanted to test his strength on Kenny
Im not sure if this is a spoiler or headcanon but I think Gremmy is just the soul kings brain. Thats why he didnt try to imagine Kens powers away. Something else that was weird was when Gremmy said “just as I imagined you”.
Gremmy is in fact not the strongest Quincy under Yhwach , there’s at least 4 above him.
Gremmy is very dangerous sternritter ☠️😰
Kon is top villain confirmed
Peak Fiction 🔥🔥🔥
She is cooking with the thought process right now I want a plate lol I'm corny.
Just be on the lookout for Sternritter X and M... they are the strongest imo
😂Long story short he basically cocked himself 💀
You guys ain't ready for the HEADLESS STAR episodes 😂
Fun facts about Gremmy.
- His gender and age was unknown. As you've heard in this episode his body is also a product of his imagination
- Gremmy was only good with Lilloto who brought him sweets which he likes
- He was imprisoned by Yhwach because he was a menace and wouldve just killed Yhwachs Ritter for fun
- He is stated to be the strongest Quincy next to Yhwach and that no one other than Yhwach can beat him. Which Yhwach did and imprisoned him
- In the manga we also see a galaxy which is also actually called Galaxy room, his outer space feat. So he created outerspace instantaneously with dozens of stars and galaxy in it 😂.
- He is hinted to be someones brain. (But im not sure if i can tell you maybe they gonna animate the novel
gremmy is not the strongest quincy, not even top 3.
@Yoxhio_ Aight. Give me any better feats from the char you have in your top 3 😂. Gremmy has the feats and statements
@@Yoxhio_ Wow. You proved me so wrong 😂
@@muchoyurdem5260 well facts are facts, not my fault u slow.
"is this the top of the top?" 😩 girl, lets wait a year n then we'll talk
Gremmy’s brain could be more important than it seems, but we just have to hope the anime tells us.
He hasn’t even hit that bakai yet
Gremmy was no joke
Killed 2 captains
Summoned a meteor and outer space. If he fought anyone else they would had died for sure. Also some diagloue from other characters were cut like in the manga we learned that gremmy was locked away his whole life cause how terrifying his power's are he never had battle experience.
*Killed two dead captains
Kenpachi and Ichigo are the BUG in this game. How crazy Kenny's Bankai will be?
24:25 he probably doesn't know what a brain is
The eye patch was still on btw
I wouldn't call counters to the quincies abilities deus ex machina, most if not all make sense
Yeah that is weird, considering the fact that rukia was about to die by it just moments ago but now she is not being affect as well.
I can’t pull out I see what the both of you did 😂😂
If you think Grimmy schrift was OP, wait till you see Cour 3 and 4 😂
Someone get Kenny some cookies 😭 🍪
That scene, in particular, made me laugh so hard. xD
Man ima tell y’all now, you won’t be ready for the Bankai
Man imma tell you now, nobody likes spoilers you clown

Kenny a problem. 💪😤
I feel really weird by voice actor's choice here. He's talking at 0 emotion level even after Gremmy just said that he got excited. Yes, couple bursts but then again back to 0 and no much in between. I can see if they wanted to portait schizotypal/schizoid personal disorder that Gremmy basically don't have decent range of emotions.
My guy already ruined it in like the soul society arc lol. But yea your at least on the road somewhere.
Ngl this was one of the weakest episodes of the season for me
This was never one of my favorites in the manga but even then certain parts of the fight that I thought were really important were kind of botched.
In short, this episode was a disgrace.
your opinion.
The problem is that gremmy It was kinda arrogante and dumb,Imagine only a hearth Attack or whatever even kenpachi would die.
