There are many reasons why a bench might not produce besides scoring like foul trouble, not guarding or hustling hard enough, bad communication, being out rebounded, being fatigued due to road games back to back, etc. Whether it's perceived as an excuse or not, the list goes on and on. We, as the viewers, appreciate these post game interviews. It gets us a more intimate and elaborate view of the players' perspective. She's not right or wrong for responding this way. The timing of the question might be what impacted the response.
@drdmob The schematics will offer a detailed description from the team to the fans. If I apply your logic, for example, failing a test and being asked why I failed, then I answer saying cause I didn't know the work as good as the last test that I passed. Of course its an obvious question, but detail can offer a full understanding. As the questioner, I already expect the tester to have studied and the test to be passable, so maybe other factors could've caused the fail. It's just little inquiries that could make a difference in perspective.
I understand they are frustrated and maybe mad, but they/we are looking for professional insight. Maybe a peek behind the curtain, other than the obvious lol
I'm amazed that these players are not better coached on how to handle the media. I don't think she understood the question on the first two tries, and on the third one was just completely disrespectful. Be happy you're getting some media coverage, not antagonistic and disrespectful. "Well, they had a tough game. Just gotta get a better rhythm next time out, keep playing tough defense and for sure get back to scoring more points to support us when we are out of the game. They'll do it. Thanks for the question." It's not hard. If it doesn't come natural, it goes to the coaching and PR staff to prepare the players to properly represent the club, even if the questions are pretty rudimentary, which most of them will be. Doesn't look like they are doing much on this front, not a good look.
I don’t understand why you’re bringing this up on a video that has nothing to do with her. Makes it look like you’re driving yourself crazy with your own fixation on Caitlin.

Was it a stupid question, yes. The problem that I have is that if you reversed the narrative, an NFL or NBA player will receive backlash for being irritated and responding to thatthe dumb question the same way she did.
that is absolutely not true. look back at nba or nfl players making fun of dumb comments. it is always all positive reception to the player. you are either delusional or do not watch interviews.
Simple question to players may seem stupid. Problem with answering question is having great IQ bball. Caitlin Clark has great IQ CC would break this question down. Go see CC interviews.
IQ has nothing to do with the question. The question was not necessitated because the answer was the bench had to play better. Hell, dude even acknowledged that the bench played poorly. If he was referring to Xs and Os, that something more gear towards a coach. The question did not emphasize strategy so it comes off as redundant after he noted the bench’s struggles prior. Caitlyn Clarke may have attempted to answer a certain way, but the whole scenario was ridiculous based on what the reporter asked.
