Yeah. The real assassin would be farther away from him and would kill with the first shot. The second would be in another "no survival when shot here" spot on the body. They know what parts of an animal body they should shut so the animal would die fast. That way they would not have to follow it far. They also know how to kill birds with tiny bullets from quite a distance. This distance is far enough for someone to find a good spot from which it is easy to escape without being seen.

Same goes for Firefighters putting out fires. If someone puts their life on the line for someone else they should get some praise, regardless of whether it’s their job or not.
