Thanks for your video instruction. Based on the Abaqus instruction guide for SAMs, the value for the start of transformation in compression needs to be a positive value, why yours is negative?
Happy to help. Procedure should be similar except concrete properties should be used. If you could please provide more details then I may comment further.
Thanks for this effective video Can you demonstrate on the program the use of shape-memory mixtures to develop the frictional pendulum friction insulator To work with the frictional pendulum together
@@Professor3MEC To reduce residual displacements within the friction insulator Suggestion Use of shaped memory alloy wires or sheets to work together with the frictional pendulum To take advantage of the superelasticity to provide the return strength of the isolator Thank you
Hi, your video is very informative. I have bend an SMA wire in a U-shape. After elastic recovery, thermal loading will bring the wire in its initial shape. I want to simulate these all steps in Abaqus. Can you help me, please?
Good afternoon, Mr. Vikas, have you managed to make any progress with your project? Because I am also trying to make a user subroutine that contains the behavior of these SMAs, however, I do not know how to include the original shape of the part so that that shape memory alloy after applying it a certain heat load recovers its initial shape.
@@MiguelVerona hi sir can you please help with writing a ABAQUS UMAT subroutine for simulating shape memory effect in an SMA sheet. It will be of great help for me. Thank you in advance.
Thanks for liking the video. I presume tensile stress or strain are taken as positive while compressive as negative. But please check abaqus documentation to be 100%sure as in this case I only had tensile loading.
@@Professor3MEC Thank you for your answer! I am quite new to SMA, actually I was struggling to model the material for bending (Step 1) and reverse the effect with thermal load (Step 2). Your advice will be highly appreciated. Thank you!
For bending, you will have both tensile and compressive deformation and it is s very important to first check all parameters are correctly defined. Mayb be at first do the same check as I have done in this video for compressive loading by changing the displacement boundary condition sign to negative. This is to ensure that similar hysteresis curve is obtained based on parameters. Finally apply bending load and then create any other step to heat the sample. All the best

sorry typo.
thanks for your efforts
It is possible to explain more about the entered values within
step1
step2
step3
step 1 is loading and unloading step. Rest are just dummy for the time being.
Hi sir can you please help me in simulating shape memory effect in SMA sheet. I need it for designing a rotary SMA actuator.
Hello
Is it possible to guide about the use of SMA materials in reinforced concrete and its definition in Abaqus?

Sir, please share the reaserch paper from which you selected data
I will try to find it as it was sometime ago.

Is it possible to make a tubular structure using this type of material, please share some videos. Thanks
Sure I will make one. Thanks
If you have any specific geometry or dimensions then it would be even easier
Could you please share the Doi of the paper you referred for this simulation?
I will check and get back. Thanks
Can the project file be shared?
