Steven - the amount of excitement, enthusiasm, and exuberance in this video was nothing less than awesome!! So much fun to watch and listen to! I would love to see more unboxing videos from you in the future! Thanks for sharing! PS - I loved the introduction with the artistic retrospective from across your decades in the industry, your various styles, and the myriad of titles you've worked on!!
Steven, I'm so glad that one of your art heroes was Hal Foster. Hal was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and is a fellow Bluenoser. I was born in a small town called Digby two hours away and 79 years later. It is awesome watching you become a kid again as you go over your 'reference material'. Please do more of these! Stay safe, my friend. The other 'Hal'.
I definitely plan on doing more! I have a Dick Tracy collection coming in and plan on doing an unboxing of it as well- glad you liked it! I think it’s the start of something- entertaining for some and hopefully educational to others-
Yes, this was really fun and enlightening. Please do more. It’s cool to hear your commentary on what you’re looking at as it provides insight on you as an artist... and a reader.
@@stevenbutlerstudios Cool, man. And judging from all the comments down below, looks like the public is demanding more comics commentary from you. Hurray!!!!
That's a really cool book. I've got some of the Tarzan books you showed. Mostly Foster and Hogarth periods. I also have a couple of the pb versions of Valiant that you showed too. Foster was a premier illustrator. He mostly used theatrical staging in his ill or. Love that stuff and have been intending doing a Valiant episode since I started my channel.
Classic Art... So much soul in those... Amazing and before his time.... Work that produced alot of greats.Great video! Thank you for sharing Steven.
