I bought this, and absolutely love it. You can block VOIP calls, withheld, and unavailable number calls. After the first week, I had around 100 numbers manually blocked, and over 300 witheld numbers, and about 70 VOIP calls rejected.
I just received my new unit today. The first one I received had problems with the display. The numbers would disappear on me at will. Returned it and got another unit. This one works perfectly and my Panasonic Cordless set works perfectly with the v5000 blocker. I installed it with the phone plugged directly into the Tel port on the blocker and the line from the wall plugged into the line port on the blocker. I am still able to see all incoming calls on the caller ID on the blacker, as well as all of the handsets around the house. My peace of mind has returned and no more weekend telemarketer nuisances. The calling is worse on the weekend. Its almost like they know you're home and hoping you pick up the phone without looking at the caller ID!
Simple to use and works great. India, constantly changes new numbers. One push to delete. Next time scammers call your phone will ring once than hang up. Great product!!!
I love mine! It has provided me peace and quiet and once blocked..that # is done for good, or until you unblock it. The scammers are now using the neighbor calling BS and have to be blocked manually..Works fine with Ooma too:)
As I sit in front of an auto dialer while calling you all! Twirling my mustache mischievously while laughing maniacally! Call Blocked!? Oh let me just modify my outgoing trunk number! - ring ring ring! - Jackpot!!
and will block that one too. If you think someone with this unit is gonna buy something from a random telemarketer--- you are wasting your time. Though wasting their own time is the main purpose of a telemarketer's life.
I got a Sentry blocker 4 months ago. So far, it has blocked 251 numbers. Just think how many different commercial callers my info has been sold to. I know Home Depot and Bank of America sold my info, not sure of who else.
I purchased a CPR Call Blocker for my elderly mother's landline in mid 2018. I have blocked OVER 600 DIFFERENT phone numbers so far but the scam calls just keep coming. The device works but scammers use SO MANY different numbers that the CPR Call Blocker is ultimately defeated because the scammers have it outnumbered. Literally.
You've had more experience with the callblocker than I have so here's a question: I programmed in a number w/o the leading 1 as you showed in the video. The call rang through when the Caller ID showed 1-area-number...the leading 1 seems to be necessary, i.e., the number you manually program in should be EXACTLY the same as the Caller ID. If this is true, how are area codes blocked? Is it smart enough to realize 3 digits implies area code?
No... I don't think it's that smart. It just does a simple match on the phone number coming through. If it matches, it'll block it. If it doesn't match, it won't. It can (supposedly) block partials... for example you can block "011" and it should block all international calls.
Mark Neustadt Thanks what I suspected when it didn't block the number I had entered manually without the leading 1 - just a simple pattern match. So if my Caller IDs come through with the leading 1's I suppose I should block for example, 714 and 1714 to block the 714 area code. BTW, on Uverse, I can connect directly without the line splitter - caller ID comes up on both TV and the Panasonic DECT phones.
I just bought the cpr call blocker. So far it works as advertised however I heard and read that there was suppose to be a beep when entering numbers. All I get is the word Successful. Just wondering if there is anything wrong with the unit.
The only problem is...they call with a different number each time. Area code and prefix are the same and sometimes only the last digit or two is different.
I cannot do the '' ** 7 # (Area Code) #.......on either my handset or on the phone pad itself. I get the busy signal after I dial in .......**7.....Would I need to connect the wires in parallel instead?
question, since i am planning on buying this device. once you enter in the number you want to block. does the phone ring from the number that you just blocked?
Sup, does it just block the number for devices that are plugged in after the device or can it actually pick up the call and automatically hang up? I understand because of the caller ID pass though issue, why you would not plug in devices after it however if you have the device on a splitter how is it going to block calls when no other devices are plugged into into the device?
you say to program in a number by magically pushing some buttons then putting in the number to be blocked then the hastag. OK, WHAT magic numbers need to be pushed, your video is so blurry you can't read them and you don't give te numbers.
+don benz Once you set a number to be blocked, it will ring once and then block the call. I suppose the single ring is just alerting you a call is being made, personally I'd prefer no ring at all.. that said I still love the device, especially since you can initially block the call without having to pick up the phone.
hyylo You set it to just block any call that comes through with no phone number at all. Similarly, on some phone systems (such as Charter Internet Phone), you can dial *77 to reject anonymous calls. *87 will allow anonymous calls again.
I have an older version, 201, which doesn't seem to block some numbers. Anyone know why this may be? Example: rec'd call from 4697958309 today and when I picked up there was no one there. So I entered the number manually and it looks like the unit did not block it. Hope this makes sense.
This appears to be fucking useless to use in the USA because when hooked up properly it does not allow you to actually see anything on caller ID on your mobile phone and need to constantly walk back to the blocker unit to review the incoming call if blocking calls was not an ongoing event that is never ending this would not be an issue but since it is using a device made in the US and designed to be used in the US would be a better option and when I mean designed I mean you can still see the caller ID when the unit is hooked up . not saying this isnt a useful product only saying that if the manufacturer wants to sell it in the US they need to modify and redesign it to actually work in the US as in not impede the caller ID info being relayed to the phone . if this also happens in the UK ? then quite simply some idiot designed this particular device and to avoid it
Here is 2 site which I use to help find out what these numbers belong to. {gives stats for each number} callercomplaints.com or 1800notes.com. Does it block v numbers?

I'm glad it comes in "a nice box". Makes all the difference - nice.

@BennyB5555 I bet you are taking a Dirt Nap aren't you....? Crack Wars can be deadly 😉
@@avpowerstn1 that was a comment from 4 years ago - nope moved on to much stronger stuff. 👍
@@BennyB5555 Yes a Guaranteed Dirt Nap ...well done. 😉

As we get into election season in the U.S. this device will be super handy. Call from candidate A? BLOCKED. Call from survey group B? BLOCKED.
***** I don't know. I guess it would as long as MagicJack passes caller ID information to the phone. But I haven't tested it so I can't say for sure.

+Kevin Thomas Also worth knowing the beep comes from the phone, not the unit itself :)

how to review the call list or block list? i tried push the arrow button won't work
will it work in any country even the 5000 one
You need to be at home to block calls.
hi i have a question please , when you block the number is it ring first then it goes to block

Hi no it won't ring at all. You will need caller ID, the number will be listed as an unanswered call but you won't be disturbed.
does it work for cellular phone?
Truecall is a much better version.
hi. can you explain how the device blocks private/withheld numbers please
hyylo You set it to just block any call that comes through with no phone number at all. Similarly, on some phone systems (such as Charter Internet Phone), you can dial *77 to reject anonymous calls. *87 will allow anonymous calls again.
thank you.
I've paid $99.00 for this piece of crap and no matter how it is connected I never get the beep after dialing **7#, always get busy signal
instructions has a couple work arounds for that... one is use the pound key as first key press #*7#
