This is just perfect. The fact that Skid and Pump are really trying to be spooky through the song just make it feel unique.
I absolutely adore the lyrics in this song and just how much character and story is behind them!
The age difference between Boyfriend and Skid and Pump is so noticeable too by how they each rap against each other. Skid and Pump rapping about candy and how (not) intimidating they are just to get their hands on some of Boyfriend's candy is definitely what you'd expect kids of Skid and Pump's age to do, while BF on the other hand being around 19 embraces the spookiness and just tries to creep out the two little kids rapping against him while still not being too crude or heavy with what he raps about. (Being able to witness code-switching in an FNF mod is so refreshing because of how repetitive or dry some lyrics or dialogue can get because the personality is always the same.) Boyfriend also incorporating Girlfriend into his lyrics too just shows how dead set he is on her. (Which is the entire main focus of the base-game and many mods.)
Its mods like these that really make the Friday Night Funkin' community shine for what it actually is under all of its imperfections. Just to think that these teams think about what they're doing with gameplay and sensory intake and just try and bring the players' enjoyment to the max brings happiness to my life because it shows just how great the people in this community are--They're creative, talented, thoughtful, smart, and overall just so brilliant for all that they bring, and of course the entire team behind the FNF: FUNKADELIX hits all of these.
I truly want to say "thank you" for bringing true joy and entertainment to all of us who stick around for it. I'm absolutely sure this mod won't disappoint!

Mkay, I have some CHOICE words, and they're all VERY positive. (The following comment is long, overanalytical, and contains excess amounts of cheese and gushiness. You've been warned...)
Firstly, the instrumental. Compared to Philly Nice and what I can recall of the other teasers of not-fully-done songs, the instrumental for South feels very different to its base game counterpart. The primary synth(?) is doing entirely different melodies to that of the base game's inst, and the vocal samples have been significantly lessened, which normally I'd be a bit bummed about, but given the fact our two leads have got plenty to sing in kind, I'd consider it necessary, and overall a welcome shakeup! It's still very spooky and groovy, and I love it!
Next, the vocal performances. RecD, as usual, kills it as Skid and Pump. I love the community's acceptance that when Sr. Pelo isnt voicing the lil dudes for base game and the Spooky Month shorts proper, RecD is a perfect fit, and honestly I couldn't agree more! He always nails their cadence and finds a good distinction between roles. (As a fan of his content since long before his FNF blowup, before FNF even existed, I'm always happy to see him get some well-deserved work and attention.) But BF, dude. I was sort of expecting him to sound like he did in Philly Nice (and presumably more songs as they come out), but the choice to keep his vocals lower on the register for a change is EAR CANDY. It fits with the song and the "ominous"/"spooky" feel of the lyrics, he's really hamming the vibe up while keeping those beautiful vox and it's soooooo good. I love his VA for these songs, they're nailing it in all the best ways and I'm LIVING for it, i cannot WAIT to hear more.
The lyrics themselves, let's not forget! What better way to get the Spooky Kids to sing a song than making every lyric either about or referencing CANDY. All very recognizable treats that any trick-or-treater worth their salt would know in a heartbeat, woven into the beat in a way that just fits like a glove. I admire that level of lyricism, and if you were able to just come up with that in a draft or two I ENVY your writing skills, seriously. (Not that I don't regardless, but yknow.) And BF's lyrics serving as foreshadowing for Monster is very interesting, right down to referencing the kids getting cooked up for a stew! Makes me wonder if the Funkadelix lore gives him a sort of mythos passed down through the family which, oOoOo, was REAL the whole time! Very charming, very fun, love love LOVE it.
And lastly, though it's obviously not full sprites yet, I absolutely LOVE this artwork. The Halloween costume for BF is sharp and slick, and the choice to give Skid and Pump less exaggerated but still cartoonish face proportions is worth a chef's kiss. Love how they mesh with the Funkadelix artstyle without really needing to be tweaked all TOO much!
And I've probably typed far too many words for a song that's only a minute and 23 seconds (it blew by me so fast, I'm sad but also very content). In short, on every front possible, you have KILLED IT on this track in every possible way. I'm loving it, looping it, sharing it to my moots, the whole shabang. Such a perfect love letter to the vibes of the base game! Cannot WAIT for the full release, this mod's going to be amazing. (That last sentence was hyperbole, obvs I can wait as long as is needed for this mod to release.)
