What pillow would you have gone with? Did I do okay? Let me know below!
Hey wait! I just realized-if you keep the strap on these pillows, you could use them like a foot hammock on the plane too! I love your idea to use it as an arm rest in the window seat. That empty space is often cold and or not comfortable. Genius!
About 10 years ago, my mom got the idea from something she saw on a show, and immediately went out and bought each of us a neck pillow. Each pillow had a zipper, with a foam insert, so you could take just out the insert and wash the cover. Well the foam inserts floated around our house, and we stuffed bathing suits, cover ups, underwear, tee shirts etc into each of our neck pillow covers and have traveled for years on personal item only LCCs , and now as a way to deal with strict weight restrictions. They have come in VERY handy!! That said, your options look a bit larger and easier to pack, im going to test it out....thanks for doing this video!!
I did the same last year when we went to Italy. I took out the foam insert and rolled my clothes into a form the same size and shape of the foam insert and when zipped up it looked just like the original. I was able to carry on with 4 additional pounds of clothing. I used the neck pillow on all flights and when we arrived I just unpacked it and put the "case" into my luggage. No one questioned it at all.
Love this!
Best idea ive ever seen on a budget. A soft cervical collar for a travel neck pillow.
I knew I was hesitating on neck pillows for a reason - just waiting on a review from Lauren to find the right one! Thank you for this!!
Agree!
Did I think I’d ever need a stuffable neck pillow? No. Do I now want one for my next trip? Absolutely I do!
Right!?!
I'd for sure pick #3, it looked like the widest and easy to pack. The joy of wearable luggage!!👍🏻👍🏻 Thanks for another great video Lauren ❤
I love hearing people saying " hack the system !" Lol 👍 😆
After I saw your packing video, I was astounded when I saw your fabulous outfits on Instagram. Now I know how you did it. I think I need one for winter travel to put my sweaters and scarves in. But I don’t like those big triangular metal things on each end, so I’ll have to sew my own. Edit: because I’m in Canada, your link didn’t take me to the same pillow. It took me to a better one that didn’t have the big metal triangles! Order placed!
I didn’t love the metal triangles either, but they helped clip it onto my bag well when I wasn’t wearing it. (The adjustable clips can often come off easily.
I’m glad you found something similar!
Hi @missmayflower, I’m in Canada too…would you share the link for our Amazon? I’ve seen a couple different ones but like your review of the one you found. Thanks!
I'm a knitter and never have enough room for my projects -yes multiple projects! I’ve been very interested in these pillows and will probably buy the 3rd one. Thank you so much for reviewing these!
I watch another travel TH-camr, and she did a video on one of these too. She uses it for a crochet project! I believe she bought one the more expensive versions, so this video and recommendation is much appreciated! Thanks Lauren and Brian!
Wonderful! You’re welcome!
Great comparison, thank you. I have a $10 neck pillow, which has a zipper in the back, I took out the fiber fill to stuff it with socks instead. I think I will get the adjustable pillow that you choose for my husband.
Oh wow. I would totally get one of these if I was limited for weight! Thanks for the info!
Yay!! I have your "It's the Kellys approved" ones, and haven't packed it yet. Glad to see how much it really holds where it can still bend! Loved seeing how you packed it initially and how it was packed on that flight home. Thanks, Lauren! And Brian!
What a great idea. I just repacked my personal item of clothes in the neck pillow. Freed up a ton of space! Love love your videos
Yay! Thank you
Great review and knowing it worked helped. Loved having Brian show them on him as well.
Thank you. He really needed to test them, because one size definitely does NOT fit all :)
I am definitely going to get the one you picked. Even if I don’t need the extra packing space, I could fit it all back in the suitcase at destination and not lug around a neck pillow the whole time!
Thank you so much for this review! I travel with carry-on and personal item only but always, always feel overpacked, especially with a change of clothes in the personal item and then a pillow as well. This takes care of the problem. So glad you found the other options besides the original noisy one. Going with your choice for sure!
Woo hoo!
I normally travel with just a tote bag. This would be a great addition.
Love this video and also love that you had Brian try them on and get his input!! Love your videos!
I have a Tubi and traveled with it to Greece and Turkey. I loved it, and it worked well . I will always travel with one out of the country now! I am open to trying another brand as well.
Love the idea. I’ve never needed a neck pillow before but after seeing this I really need one now.
Thanks for the update. I freeze on planes, so a blanket is a must for me
I use the airplane blanket usually!
Great comparison! I haven't resorted to this yet, but I'll keep it in mind in case I ever need to pack extra items. 🌺Heidi
I've been eyeing these for a while and asked my flight attendant sister about them too. I used your link and they had a 20% coupon too. Can't wait to use this for my next travels. It will work great in the car too to hold clothing items I need while riding shot-gun.
That’s a really good deal!
Just ordered one🙂
As I travel home to the states twice a year and I am always leaving some clothes at my moms. This will definitely help when I shop too much😆
Thank you 🙂
You are my hero! Glad I waited to buy one of these until you and Brian worked your magic 😊 Ordered 2 for a big trip - thanks!
I have ths pink one that comes with the blanket, actually have it in 2 colors. I bought them on sale last fall for $14.99 for my trip to Scotland for Christmas & New Year's. My husband, our 2 teenagers & i were only taking 1 checked bag, 2 carryons & 4 very small personal item bags (Aer Lingus size requirements are so small!) I was worried about fitting all of our things, which included winter boots, for 18 days in Edinburgh. We have never used neck pillows before so i really only intended these stuffable pillows to be extra room for clothes. I was able to fit shirts, wool socks, hats, scarves & gloves in each neck pillow. We also used them for our Spirit flight to Miami for our cruise & fit all our bathings suits & 1 daughter's shorts in them. They go right in the washing machine when we get home, easy peasy
Thank you!!!!!!! Wonderful review.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you sooo much! I've been looking at these and could not make up my mind, Until I watched you video 😁
Glad I could help!
I just bought the one you recommended and look forward to using it soon! Thank you!
Hope you enjoy it!
I love this review!! There are so many travel products and so many versions of the same thing, it’s hard even with reviews to know which ones to get sometimes. I’m looking forward to more like this!
Oh! And I’ve been intrigued by the Tube for so long but put off by the price. I finally ordered it last month because it was a holiday special price but like you I was put off by the fabric. As soon as I saw this video, I returned it (I hadn’t used it yet) and I’m going to order the gray one. Thanks Lauren!
Good to know people don’t like the material! I just don’t understand it! I thought it might be “cooling” but it just wasn’t pleasant at all!
That was a great review! I'm glad to hear how well it worked! I would have felt the pressure to by "the original" but wouldn't have loved stuffing all my things down in it!
Thank you for the suggestion I immediately ordered it.
I’m so happy this came up for me. I own The Nab neck pillow and I had some of the same issues. I’m about to go check out the Dreamshore Pillow. I just love yall!!
Aw thank you! Let me know how you like the difference. This one is so much easier to pack!
_You are the only travel TH-camr that I will allow to use the word "hack"!!_
No, in all sincerity I have traveled with stuff bags before and stuffed clothes in them to create pillows but I never did this to avoid luggage carry-on weight.
I think the most restricted I have ever been was on Ryanair and it wasn't in cold climate destinations but I've always succeeded in packing under my weight restrictions. I don't use wheeled bags and I make room for a scrubba bag and simply wash my clothes out every night. I know some would consider that tedious but as a traveler I love carrying a lighter bag and spending a few minutes at night washing out a few things that will be dry by morning.
Can't wait to see your updates after this last trip. Cheers! 🌎🌏😆
I initially bought the Tube pillow before your review. I returned it for the Dream pillow. It feels way better!
Right?! Can’t wait for you to travel with it!
I’m going to check out the pillow that was your choice. Looks like it may work for my travels too. And actually in addition to the other uses you mentioned, with that long strap, you may also be able to use it like a foot sling by hanging from the tray table. Those seem to be popular these days too. Thanks for always providing such great tips!
That is very true!
Very interesting and great review! 🙌 I'd have chosen the same neck pillow. 👍 Well done!
Thank you! I’m still using it!
Add to cart! 😅 I went with the one you bought because you had convinced me that it’s worth it. I was totally cracking me up watching Brian’s reactions/review of the neck pillows 🤣🫠🤣. Thanks for doing this Lauren, looking forward to bringing this pillow on my next trip.
Great video! I never knew a packable neck pillow was a thing. I just ordered #3 the DreamShore.
Thank you and awesome!
Very helpful. Will use your link to buy the gray one.
Enjoy!
I've seen eternal scarf versions of this type before & almost bought one ! But,never seen a neck pillow type .💜
Great video. U totally did all the work I would have done to decide as well. Great minds!😁
I ordered the dreamshore cover based on your great reviews!
Hope you enjoy it!
Loved this ! Thank you! I just bought the one you chose :)
Awesome! You will love it :)
Thanks for this review. Been on the fence with this idea.
Got the Dream Shore, and used it on an overnight road trip, to hold pjs, change of underwear and a clean shirt. Perfect and quite comfortable while hubs drove.
Hint, don’t overstuff, or it won’t be comfortable. Also, helpful if you can roll everything into a tube similar to the shape of the pillow so it’s not lumpy.
I did see on another platform that Southwest is counting pillows as carry on now. 😢
I'm a bit after-the-fact here, but I saw your review of hollowed out neck pillows. (I agree with yur choice, by the way.) I have one. I was quite interested in how you use it -- I pack it completely differently! Now, first, I must disclaim that ALWAYS, ALWAYS check my suitcase(s). I do not "travel light". Further, my latest trip involved a formal wedding in Ireland followed by a tour of Scotland. So, I had to bring formal clothing and shoes and accessories as well as regular travel/tour items - big walking shoes, a raincoat, etc. But back to the neck pillow: I packed it with items necessary to have if one or more of my suitcases didn't show up. My neck pillow contained a couple of pairs of undies; a set of pajamas, two tops (one long sleeved; one short sleeved), two pairs of cotton pants and a knit dress. I had a jacket with me on the plane. So, the pillow served as my emergency clothing supply. It worked just fine! I was thrilled to get all those items in the pillow! I was in First Class so I really didn't need it as a neck pillow so I just stashed it in my "personal item" carry on thing. I am always interested in how people - men and women - select travel clothing and how it is packed. Thank you for this great information!!!
Lots more versatile than a regular neck pillow. Regular neck pillows only have the one shape. I like that you can use this one in different ways.
And like you said, on those flights with the restrictions you can use it to carry more items and if it’s a flight that doesn’t have as harsh restrictions then you just toss it in the carryon.
Exactly!
Oh la la...another need I didn't know I had... 😂
But seriously, many years ago Isaw some spring/fall puff jacket that had a pocket like that and I thought it was genius. I tried to find it but was unable.
That pillow will now certainly be traveling with me. :)
I just returned from a 3 weeks travel around the USA carry on only and before departing bought the third one thanks to this video. It was empty at first and it returned full of clothes to make room for my purchases. Worst security I ever lived was in El Salvador airport (I was there only for a connection flight and had to go through security again and it was intense!) Well they didn’t bat an eye with the “pillow” 😂
Best 27 bucks ever spent! Thank you!!!
Glad I could help!
Ooh I've been wondering about these!! Got a flight on Air France coming up and I can get under the weight going, but I'm also a shopper. This could come in real handy on the way home!!
Shoppers unite! Haha
Great video. So where to get that pillow that you recommended and how is called.thank you
My internet isn’t so good at the moment on my trip, but the links are in the description. Thanks for watching!
This is another very interesting video / topic !! Wow ! Lol 👍 👍😆
Thanks for reviewing, just purchased using your link! I had already previously purchased the Tube version ( I haven't tried it yet) but after your review I can clearly see the other will be a better fit for me. Luckily I bought the Tube during prime days lol I will just give it to my daughter to try. Sounds like you had a fantastic adventure! I received my new MZ Wallace Jim bag that i will use on my upcoming trip and I'm obsessed 🎉 it appears they offer product ambassador ships, perhaps they will send you some travel bags to review?
I’ll check them out for sure! I have them written down already! I don’t have room for a new review until April so far! Believe it or not!
I always do that but with a regular cheap neck pillow hahaha just remove the foam stuffing and its done!
I have had the TUBE version for a little over a year now. There are a few things that I don't like about it. I agree with you about the material. it is very uncomfortable but it also doesnt get absolutely gross when traveling. I have considered getting a custome case made for it so it can be washed inbetween flights. I also don't like how you have to pack it like a tube as I feel like it discourages me from wanting to take anything out of it becuase I dont want to have to repack it but that also might not be a bad thing. It is probaly better that the pillow stays a pillow in transit. The plus to the "Tube" loading method is that when packed correctly I believe the pillow will hold its form better than the others. also, there is no zipper directly where your head and neck would be. One more nice thing about the TUBE is that it does pack up into its self so you can pack it into your luggag and be ready to use it as an extra bag if needed. Whatever the case (pardon the pun) this was a great video. Thanks for posting it!
Great to hear your thoughts! I didn’t mind the zipper, as I put it on the outside, and it was really cool to be able to easily get things out of mine, as I almost used it as a packing cube when you think about it, holding 8 shirts!
Thank you for sharing! I just ordered mine! Quick question: what brand luggage is that bag between the July trunk and the Level 8 zipper less suitcase? It has the dark brown side handle. Thank you!
Well… that’s a Carl Friedrik carry on pro bag which will be Saturdays review so stay tuned!
Can you talk about how it was getting through TSA? Did you place it on the luggage scanner with your luggage / coats / etc? Or could you just wear it around your neck when going through the metal detector? I've never had a neck pillow so I wasn't sure if I could bring a neck pillow for clothing, small personal bag, and a carry on
You put it in the bin like normal! It’s perfectly fine :)
@@ItsTheKellys Thank you!
That is the one I would pick.
p.s. - love your glasses!
Thank you!
Totally want 2 hear how well it works
Keep watching the video, she gives an update.
Maybe try stuffing Brian in it and smuggle him on your next trip. 🤔
I would need to check my bag 😭🤣
Very helpful, thank you! How was the neck pillow you chose with headphones/earbuds?
It was great, I used it with buds and with the ones from the plane!
Ordered❤❤
That is Impressive! Fitting 10 items in the neck pillow for on the way home. I love the idea of bringing it with you as a just in case of overpacking. We fly Volaris to Mexico (Spirit Airlines of Mexico) and carry only a personal item so this would really help. Totally getting it. Thank you for review.
Right? It was such a saver!
Have you tried wearing the neck pillow ont Easy Jet or Ryan Air.. they are really strict.. Also I assume you have to be careful with no metal to not set off the alarm.. and.. what about a metal zipper.. Brilliant idea though!
You can take whatever through TSA in the bin, its just like any other neck pillow, just stuffed with clothes. it’s all about the gate agents and what they allow. But if they don’t allow a normal looking neck pillow, that’s insane.
You’re the best
Where is your travel towel from?
I know it's the end of January, but I'd like to say " Happy New Year to you & everyone here on this channel !" Lol 2024 is the year of the dragon !! 🐲✨️🎉💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
Happy new year!
@@ItsTheKellys Thank you ~!! 😊 🐲🎉🎈👍
That was an interesting looking travel towel. Did I miss a review on that? 😅
I don’t think I ever reviewed it. It might be in an Amazon essential video from a few years ago!
Hi. I’m hoping to take only my under the seat bag. I hear that not all airlines accept it and consider this an additional item. I’m hoping to get this to pack my extra outfit and scarf n mittens. I also wanted it in case I fall asleep since I’m going from west coast to east coast. Do you know any airlines that would say it has to go in my personal bag because I know right now it won’t fit.
In my experiences, they will always allow a neck pillow.
@@ItsTheKellys Great. Thanks for replying. Love your videos.
Why anyone would choose a packable neck pillow that had to be stuffed like a sock when options exist that have a zipper down the middle is beyond me! Even my actual neck pillow cover has a zipper down the middle! It's just so much easier to use!
Right?!?!
And these pass through TSA security ok? I am nervous. It’s been at least 20 years since I have flown.
My family has been stuffing traditional neck pillow cases with clothing for years! It was always a great hack when we traveled on budget carriers with just a personal item, and we have never had an issue with TSA! You can get a fair amount in them, and when dealing with personal item only OR crazy weight restrictions, these can be a tremendous help.
@@heathermackey5714 When going through TSA, do you put it on the scanner belt with the rest of your luggage and coat or do you wear it on yourself around your neck?
@@nevendumont we put it through the scanner, they wouldn't allow it through on our body
@@heathermackey5714 Thank you!
@@heathermackey5714thank you. That really helps!!😊
As I have never flown I’m confused as to what is allowed to “carry on” do pillows not count as a personal item?
Nope! I make sure to board with in on my neck though, just in case!
Can’t find it on Amazon. ☹️ is it under a different name?
There is a link in the description!
Can i stuff clothes in a feeding pillow on a flight? Ps - travelling with an infant
You can always try to stuff stuff anywhere!
Interesting....but I'm totally paranoid about weight now. Air France put EVERYTHING on the scale, even my snacks and jacket the last time I flew out of CDG.
So crazy! I have literally never experienced that with them!
Another hack: stuff a pillowcase 😉
It won’t pass. It’s basically another bag. These look like neck pillows.
@@missmayflower worked for me on a red eye flight. Admittedly my last trip 2 months ago staff has gotten stricter on extra pieces: they made passengers put every small cross body wallet/pouch into carry ons.
Except Spirit says it has to fit in your carry on🙄
People board spirit with neck pillows on all the time!
If you have so many clothes that you need to stuff them in a pillow...
CHECK YOUR BAG!!!!!
I don’t carry that many clothes. I carry mostly camera gear. We don’t check bags :)
The neck pillow seems to be the latest hack. I don't like it. Big old pillow around my neck.
I’m not a fan of neck pillows whatsoever, but this is a nice hack when you need to carry more stuff due to a weight limit on a strict airline :)
