This is not auto tuned one bit. If you're going to auto tune vocals it's either all or none. He's off a lot. If this was auto tuned 2:09 wouldn't be off it would have been fixed. There are no auto tune sounds on any of his high notes. If they were going to auto tune they would have fixed every off note, but there are clearly plenty of them throughout the dvd.
The DVD isn't tuned. Number 1; none of the "pitch correction" sonic qualities are there. Number 2; He is a little off pitch a ton of times throughout the DVD and those wouldn't have happened.

Mate it would be weird if they didn't use autotune. Why do people have such a hard time accepting that it's used on everything from studio recordings to 'live' dvds? As listeners we wouldn't accept anything but perfection - thats why autotune will continued to be used like this.

Here's the official statement from their guitarist Beau: "After 5 years with Cove, we have decided to part ways. So it will be a new experience for us, not knowing what to expect in the vocal dept, who will replace him, or if we will even find a replacement this century. Reber was asked to leave due to his diminishing stage performance and vocal abilities." So obiously the band gave a fuck...

Note at 2:09 when his voice goes off pitch when he sings "wrong," if his voice was auto-tuned, even in real time, it would have corrected a mistake like that. He's a good vocalist. It doesn't have to always be auto-tune. And saying a voice can't smooth out transitioning notes from 1-2-3 is incorrect. It's just a vocal run. Vocalists who train can easily do that.

The Cher effect is caused by turning up parameters on an autotune plug-in too high. But for natural sounding autotune, producers use it in small doses. If something miles out of tune, obviously pitch correction will become more noticeable.

You a music producer? Ask a producer about auto tune, it'll scare you the amount it's used. You know none of the drums (apart from cymbals) are real on a standard metal record. They're all switched using triggers to play heavily EQ'd samples. It's the way of the world. Don't believe anything you hear unless you hear it first hand.
