I dont know if anyones said it yet but the mv for Ex pretty much showcases depression/coping mechanisms, etc. Bang Chan shows self hatred (looking at the mirror, drowning himself) Lee Know shows alcoholism (the water representing alcohol and him drinking a lot) Changbin showed mental health issues mainly depression (the blue being the usual color associated with the illness and theres also an org called beyond blue which supports people with depression and anxiety) Hyunjin was a bit confusing for me but a lot of people say he was trying to put the pieces back together the way he was building up those objects Han was denial or some say going crazy (not being able to move on, wearing the other persons clothes) Felix represented suicide (laying on train tracks, getting hit by the toy train) Seungmin represented the feeling of not wanting to do anything and just sitting or laying there. I.N represented binge eating (the cake) Theres a lot of other theories out there too tying this mv with the other skzverse mvs. Its always nice to see when artists arent scared to showcase things that should be talked about. Changbin and Chan did an amazing job writing this song. The director did great for bringing us this concept and SKZ was phenomenal for their acting skills and for pefectly portraying what they needed to portray 💕

A 29 year old man who took his own life. He once snuck out of his house as a child to prank his father by painting a dead tree blue. The blue tree project went international with its message that it’s ok to not be ok and to look for help. Changbin smearing the blue paint in the Ex m/v is another reference to it. ive srsly have such a strong emotional attachment to stray kids because it's one of the places where i feel loved and like im in a family who cares about me. i find the idea of chan featuring at the end of streetlight so interesting to the meaning of the song. i take that as it switching to another scene where someone else (chan) is standing alone at a streetlight. they are both alone but both singing together about being alone under a streetlight. it could be them showing changbin isnt alone in having this struggle. there are multiple streetlights and we are all going through this together and understand his feelings.
Fwiw, a small detail that a lot of newer people don't have the background to notice is that when the lyrics and the LoveSTAY hashtag are written on screen in the LoveSTAY video, they're in the handwriting of whichever member is singing at that moment. A lot also don't notice that it's Felix singing at 00:57 or again at 2:04, or that Changbin is right before him in the first part and right after him in the second, because a lot of them don't know those two can sing like that or haven't heard their singing enough to recognize when they're not be deep-voiced or growly. And it's meaningful that Hyunjin sang both the first and last lines, as again, this is titled after the hashtag he started and that we and SKZ used as coded reference to him when SKZ were forced to pretend he didn't exist during hiatus. While forbidden to directly talk about that time/situation, he did as much as he could to tell us in a roundabout way (on socmed) that he worked on this during that time and read the thousands of socmed posts and letters showing him love and support every day and was inspired by things like looking out at the stars and imagining they were a sea of STAY holding lightsticks to show their support. Basically, when OH released out of nowhere to announce his return, Stayville dissolved into tears. And when they gave us this as a New Year's gift, again without warning, we broke down again, not just because it's beautiful and emotional, but because we knew the context.
This was definitely an emotional rollercoaster for me too. I instantly was starting crying when you were watching the first chorus of #loveSTAY and stared crying. I know you watched the lyrics vid for Streetlight because the MV doesn't have lyrics (and those words definitely need to be understood to truly grasp the depth of this song). But I do recommend also watching the actual MV (th-cam.com/video/_oCptmj2gIQ/w-d-xo.html), even if just off-camera, because it's beautiful and simple and stark. It also ends with a reference to blue paint that you might recognize as also having been part of Changbin's moment in EX. It's a reference to the Blue Tree Project, an Australian organization/initiative centered around mental health issues. Binnie made this song and then circumspectly told us that he'd been having a hard time, feeling exactly what this song expresses, and that just making the song, putting the words out there, not bottling it up, had helped him release a lot of this and move forward. 3RACHA has a "bring on the tears" trifecta, one from each of them. (Technically Han has a lot more than one, because he's Han, but there's one specific one that most applies.) -- Binnie has Streetlight. Anyway, as you can see from the stage set behind them, "LoveSTAY" has been treasured in the SKZ-STAY family for quite a while, so Hyunjin, Felix, and I.N then giving us a song with its lyrical roots in Hyunjin's isolated time while forced to be apart on hiatus made both the song and the title mean even more to us.

I know you watched the lyrics vid for Streetlight because the MV doesn't have lyrics (and those words definitely need to be understood to truly grasp the depth of this song). But I do recommend also watching the actual MV (th-cam.com/video/_oCptmj2gIQ/w-d-xo.html), even if just off-camera, because it's beautiful and simple and stark. It also ends with a reference to blue paint that you might recognize as also having been part of Changbin's moment in EX. It's a reference to the Blue Tree Project, an Australian organization/initiative centered around mental health issues. Binnie made this song and then circumspectly told us that he'd been having a hard time, feeling exactly what this song expresses, and that just making the song, putting the words out there, not bottling it up, had helped him release a lot of this and move forward.
3RACHA has a "bring on the tears" trifecta, one from each of them. (Technically Han has a lot more than one, because he's Han, but there's one specific one that most applies.)
