If you coach football, played football and watched Washington vs.Texas last year, you would have known that DeBoer is way over his head as a coach. He almost single handedly gave the game back to Texas after a string of the most baffling and stupid decisions I had ever seen in my life. DeBoer may be a great recruiter and that might be it, but as a coach he is not long for Alabama. This might have been the BIGGEST upset in College Football history. This is worse than App State over Michigan. Vanderbilt is NOT good at all. App State was at the very least an extremely good FCS program at the time who probably would have been top competitive in the mid major conferences at the FBS level.

It is concerning that he wasn't aware of what happened on the field. There is a disconnect somewhere on defense and these coaches aren't used to SEC play. No offense intended but the conference he was in was easier. Teams play Alabama like it is the National Championship game. Coaches didn't keep the guys from being overconfident and I think the coaches were too. I am not certain the swarm defense is working out. I think teams are very well prepared for it. It is our first season without our GOAT, and we need to be supportive, but these coaches need to do better. We have too much talent and those young men deserve to be coached well with discipline, care and guidance. He has the caring part down but perhaps not so much the discipline and guidance yet. No. If Alabama won, it would be considered just another ordinary game or if it were a landslide then why would Vanderbilt stay in NCAA Division I football. It is time to move on. The good news they still can get into the NCAAF Playoffs with 1 loss. The best part of the Alabama vs Vanderbilt game that it was not a lop-sided game.
Scoring stayed close throughout the game. It was a fantastic - great game. It kept everyone who was watching mesmerized.
Am I sorry that Alabama lost. No. If Alabama won, it would be considered just another ordinary game or if it were a landslide then why would Vanderbilt stay in NCAA Division I football.
It is time to move on. A lesson learned and to be shown to all football teams including any sport that at anytime and anyplace things can happen.
Alabama no longer has an unblemished football season. The good news they still can get into the NCAAF Playoffs with 1 loss. Maybe this is the eyeopener or that 1 loss Alabama needed and will march on through the season and playoffs to become National Champs.
This game was also important to Vanderbilt for they got the monkey off their back and realize they really can play football at the next higher level.
Could it be time to climb the stairs and get out of the basement?
Vanderbilt needed this win more than Alabama.

Alabama fans that have been fans since 80’s and 90’s know how football works, that there are highs and lows. This coach does not have the same mentality or discipline our previous coaches have had. He is trying to make friends, not leaders. So it’s not a reality check for fans, it’s sad to see the team turn into a crap fest.
