Since I went to FFS, I started using my 20 year old spinning reels again but just never really paid attention to the gear ratio on them. I'm always picking some new tricks or tips up from your video's.
Sir! Thank you very much for sharing this! I am more of a spinning guy over baitcaster and I have been looking for a high speed real for just the reason you discussed in your video today. I literally found all three of those reels on tackle warehouse this morning and then found this video. Please keep up the great videos.
I bought a ABU revo x 20 in 6.2:1 some years ago and i use it mostly for ned, shakyhead or whacky. One day i put on a little crankbait and i tought it was something wrong with the reel. It was like wind in mud. I like Abu but for baits that make resilience in the water i prefer 5,0:1.
Hello Mike how are you it's Bill Mr old school lol lol my hope all is going well and I want to comment on our video here absolutely phenomenal excellent presentation Mike and you explained all these gear ratios very very thoroughly I use a spinning also for our finesse techniques and in tournaments and I'll tell you they are well worth it but a lot of us have never really paid attention to the gear ratios for the spinning reels and a lot of that is because not a lot of guys use them some guys don't use them at all I know a guy I used to fish with and all he used his baitcasters no spinning whatsoever is comment was about spinning that's for beginners only to use and I had to correct him and said no it's not for Beginnings to users only spinning reels are for many different types of finesse technique applications and they are well warranted and needed in fishing for sure I told him I'm a Baitcaster and spinning reel angler and that's what I use and I have three or four spinning reels and rods setups and for different techniques from drop shot to finesse fishing to whatever it takes I've been very successful that way for sure Mike but the gear ratios are very important I have a couple of those 4.8 want to miss I got a 5-point I believe 862 look forward to getting a higher speed one sounds like a great idea and there are times we would need the speed of a 761 ratio to get that lower back faster absolutely I agree with that Mike there are times we're going to need that that's for sure especially for using Panic box lures I built mine put Panic box together and absolutely ready to go with it begin my great video I know you're down at the Bassmasters Classic and safe travels back I will definitely talk to you soon Mike God bless you
Less gearing more pulling power faster for speed but losses power up biggens. Trout, bass and catfish all different gearing ⚙️ 🤔 like the 6.2-1 is perfect and slower for catfish when I need power.

Definitely great info to start the season up here in the Chesapeake Bay area. It’s bad, but I always think of my spinners as secondary.

Ike, I hear ya but just like having the rocket in my hand so I can rip the heck out of anything lol yes, I have 52 to 1 also
Ike rules 👍
Makes sense but explaining the gear ratio would have been helpful. Ex. 6.2.1 means 1 full rotation of handle, spool should rotate 6.2x 👍

The drag on my rocket is terrible!
