disc has got to leave your hand before your foot leaves the ground. Essentially the rule is you need a point of contact behind your lie at the point of releasing the disc. Most people just think you can be in front of your disc before you release but there are two aspects to it.@@jii-ro7083

The Dak Prescott impression was funny and didn’t expect it in a disc golf video. Also Big Kon has stepped it up lately what a man. I like watching him cause he’s around my level and it’s amazing comparing that to the likes of Hunter and Trevor. Keep it up 👍

I like the 2 shots idea but he has to take the 2nd if he goes for the mulligan
He's playing single man doubles, not mulligans. Doubles usually plays with two people each throwing, then they decide which disc to begin their next throw from. I understand what you mean, doubles over a single thrower is a huge advantage, but it's an actual play mode.

802.07 Stance
If the lie has been marked by a marker disc, then when the disc is released, the player must:
1. Have at least one supporting point that is in contact with the lie; and,
2. Have no supporting point closer to the target than the rear edge of the marker disc; and,
3. Have all supporting points in-bounds.
A drop zone is played as either a teeing area (see 802.04.B) or a marked lie (see 802.07.A).
A player who violates 802.07.A or 802.07.B has committed a stance violation and receives one penalty throw.

Regarding Konnor’s step putting. First one was clean, 2nd was a foot fault. Back foot was up and off the ground prior to releasing the disc. Had to tell unless going frame by frame. I would be with Hunter, wouldn’t call it since it is sooo close.
Konnor has improved drastically, all his second shots have been better nose angle, better height, better line.
Huge improvement Big Kon, you gotta keep it up, you’re doing so well.

I think the potential issue Konner's step putt is that his back foot leaves the ground before he releases the disc which is still a foot fault. Honestly most people who jump/step putt foot fault like this and its just so tough to call in real time.

I think a great video would be. Start 3-5 “lives ”; birdie +1 life, bogey -1 life, double bogey -2 lives, par would remain the same. Play until there is only one player remaining. Or something along those lines.

I would love to see Konner play a round where he keeps his eye on the target for each throw, instead of following the disc as he swings back. Just to see if it would prevent him throwing into the tree straight in front of him. :)

@@garnerthecube Is watching the disc on the back swing considered good form because it allows you to throw further, or because it reduces some sort of muscle strain?
If it's only the former then it might be worth trading some distance for fewer tree-in-front-of-you hits. That's what the experiment would determine.
And watching other MPO players I don't see many of them turn their head away from where they're aiming as much as Konner does, so there's some wiggle room.
@@Sumaleth it definitely gets more distance. All the pros will turn their heads back at least a little. You will see them not turn their head as much on shorter shots though.
@@garnerthecube So the original question holds then: would it be worth it, for Konner, to trade some distance for accuracy? (at least for shots where accuracy matters)
Every round he loses multiple whole strokes to throwing into the first available tree -- oftentimes one that's a few feet in front of him. There's no guarantee that keeping an eye on the target would solve the problem, but that's the experiment.

Video idea. Solo best shot doubles with Player A throws backhand, and Player B throws forehand.
I think Kon would help himself a lot if he practiced his standstills. You don't really need to turn away on your standstills, you can use your eyes and your body will follow and keep your pretty decently on the line you want.

Ok but regardless of the legality of your step putt, it seems like you kinda get less power, accuracy, and control whenever you use one so I think some of us are just wondering… why? 😂
