Don't wetsand primer that's on top of bare metal. Primer's porous and the metal underneath comes in contact with moisture that way. Dry sand primer over bare metal, and wetsand during your base coats & clear coats.

Not really if the paint decide to come off in the future it doest mater if it has clear or not it will come off any way

*It says on the cans to just wait 30 min after primer to put base coat on.. Why did you wait 24 hrs? How does it benefit? Really curious because I'm gonna start primer on mine tomorrow..*

Well I did 3 heavy costs so 30 minutes will not do it + since I had the hood all the way to the metal it will take longer to dry , but is up to you if you don't want to wait

If you get a cheap can of black paint and just mist it over the primer and then wet sand it your guaranteed to get all the sanding scratches out if you wet sand it until all the black is gone.

Your also better off to start in the middle and work your way out so your not leaning over fresh paint.

3 Rust-oleum 1 1/2 Acetone and 1 Japan Drier will do it ,, if you don't like it you can add more acetone

It's always best to protect the colour. However, if you don't use a 2k clear coat, the sun will fade the colour and clear.
Note: 2k clear coats are very dangerous, so you should always use an air fed respirator and a body suit.

@@nestorautorepair I started doing clear coat spray can repair twenty years ago. The trick is it`s all about the nozzle on the spray can. I took one from a primer can that sprayed perfect but it wouldn`t fit the diameter of the actual finish paint can. I had to drill it out to fit on the other can. Always save your spray can nozzles before you toss the can.

I own a body shop and high end detail company and I wet sand in a x pattern a criss cross to ensure a good even cut im not saying your wrong in only going one way but I challenge you try it my way once and see what kinda results you get I was taught both ways but have found there is a difference for me and the way i do it
