- RefGuess is back! In this season, a select few Jomboy Media office members compete to gain points by guessing players based only on their Baseball Reference stat page. Each one guessed correctly is worth one point. If the player guesses all three correctly they advance to the trivia round. Guessing the trivia question correctly is worth two points for a grand total of five possible points per episode. The most points at the end of the season wins bragging rights and a The RefGuess Trophy.

I got Orlando Hudson immediately and didn't get Millwood. The Gonzalez question at the end was pretty easy though.
I think Milwood was easier to get than Hudson

As the son of a Giants fan and the son-in-law of a Dodgers fan, I can assure you that recent history aside, SF/LA hate each other more than they even pay attention to the Padres.
Jolly is a New Yorker. He doesn't get it. They don't stay up to watch west coast games, and they don't have many west coast people in their office. Ryan is a Padres fan, so I'm sure he tells them how much he hates the Dodgers. But no Dodgers fan will tell you they consider the Padres the primary rival.

It's interesting that the difference between this and previously is that earlier, guys would come in with a "let's have some fun, whatever" attitude, but now that it counts for stuff the nerves are playing a role.

Always proud when I can get one. Even if it's easy. I'm a Max guy but I love a good rivalry and Jake is a blast in everything so I'm rooting for him to catch up.

My first thought was Matt Kemp, but I knew he wasn't on the Padres that long and wasn't really a high-WAR guy outside of 2011.
Then I thought Steve Garvey, but I knew he is one of those guys whose WAR is lot lower than you think it would be. Was still leaning towards him, until I thought of Kevin Brown. But I was pretty sure he'd only played one season with the Padres, and, while he was great, I think I'd remember a 10 WAR season. (He actually had 9.1)
I was going to say Brown when Adrian Gonzalez popped into my head. And I was ashamed for even thinking of the other three. Like you said, it is so obvious.

Took ages on the medium because I sae that one Twins year and thought "it's either Orlando Cabrera or the one guy I keep confusing with Orlando Cabrera."
Eliminated Cabrera because I remembered his one Twins year was '09 (homered in Game 163) and took like 5 more minutes to remember the correct name.

I own a Royals Benintendi jersey and I wore it to a Royals-Red Sox game (Royals won).
Me a mid 30s Braves fan struggled with Easy and Hard, but got Hard in 2 seconds. Still Salty that we traded Kevin Millwood. Still Salty we traded him for Johnny Estrada. How we didn't get someone better for Millwood baffled me.
