The unmastered version has more energy from verse to chrous, you can hear it's actually louder in the chorus cuz it's more dynamic The retail is very distorted & flat. I think if they want to make a loud master, they shouldn't go this far (clipping & waveform is too flat)
I’m not saying it isn’t there but f*ck me if I hear any difference. Last year when I bought a pair of Bose QC headphones I downloaded 3 apps for testing auditory acuity and was pretty maxed out. A few years back I did a medical examination in a soundproof booth with same results. So it’s not the ears it’s the brain’s ability to interpret the data 🤷
Everytime I hear that annoying song (or any other top-10 song), I suddenly see overpowered speakers and rectangular waves in my head.... It sounds to me like it's made out of sampled overvoltages -.-
And I thought my masters were bad...
