fluid dynamics: you probably don't need the pumps apart from the start, underground pipes count only as 2 pipes (entry, exit), so if you go by the fluid throughput table, you'll have to place down a lot of underground pipes to reach the point where you're hurting throughput - which is why underground pipes are used so much
I believe the used up nuclear fuel cells are recycled back into the loop now, because the inserters will pick them out of the wagon and drop them on the belt again. Maybe filter inserters will do the trick? Absolutely loving the series!
for the loading of the empty fuel canisters (reactor), you need to make sure you have filter inserters for the unloading side, otherwise those inserters will unload the empty canisters too and you will get the same amount of empty ones as you unload full ones, the train just comes very infrequently
For the pump issue factorio needs one pump every 10 pipes. Since you already have water fill I and other fans probably wouldn't mind you feeding your steam system directly from off shore pumps
I think this playthrough we'll be good with train traffic since I'm only shipping the raw resources, contrary to shipping almost all items at some point.
How many nuclear fuel canisters can you hand feed into a reactor and how many fuel cells will the output slot hold before the reactor shuts down? I was thinking about building a 3x3 to get 1.32 GW in a small space for max efficiency, hand feeding the reactors periodically and storing the steam in a massive tank facility for later use. I currently have 60k+ solar panels and several continent-sized accumulator arrays cluttering up my world lol
Yesss, that's the episode I've been waiting for :D going absolutely nuts with beacons and modules, ramping up everything to its extreme
Me too! I’ve been so pumped for the beaconing
👍

i would say it is a solution if nothing reasonable other option works, buth nathan decides :)
Love your originality ❣
Cheers;)
If you throw down a bunch of electric smelters at each ore patch, you halve the number of copper/iron trains since plates stack twice as high as ores.
True.
@@Nathans-Sandbox it's just annoying to set up, but it does reduce the number of trains.. Especially if you dedicate a few iron patches to steel.

@@Nathans-Sandbox The other alternative is to make sure that your ores come in on one side and the plates go out the other.

Where's that thumbnail from?
You need 83 turbines for 2x2 reactors to use all the steam according to the wiki.
the only way to explode your reactors is to let biters run them over, or shoot them yourself - so the water isn't relevant to prevent explosion at all
